Absolutely amazing team of people. I picked Woodland Resort out from the Perch Patrol ice fishing package and was not disappointed at all. The amenities was fresh and clean the entire time. The cleaning station for fish was clean, well stocked with supplies, and spacious, especially with how much it was getting used. Our room had everything we needed plus some. Best part I didn't have a single interaction that I was disappointed in. Every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and over all just a joy to interact with.

The actual resort is beautiful and high quality. Clean, great appliances, etc. A-Number 1 as a place to stay.|The fishing for walleye is, for the most part, truly exceptional. The lake is a walleye factory.|My caveat is that the resort, and local chamber of commerce consistently tout the excellent perch fishing. Not so. Perch fishing in the lake, Devils Lake, is not good anymore. Just fished there. Saw guys cleaning beautiful perch and told one of the resort workers checking our ice fishing houses. His response: “ I guarantee they weren’t caught in Devils Lake.” And they were not. They were caught in small local lakes,|So, a wonderful resort. Decent walleye fishing. Just do t fish Devils Lake “proper” for perch.

Incredible resort and bar food. Bar includes blackjack, slots and great food. Loved our suite that we had booked. Great place to stay. Resort 5/5. Fishing experience and guided trip 1/5. Our houses were set up within a quarter mile of the resort. Very lazy guides to have us set up so close to the resort. Fishing was awful, which is understandable, but the lack of effort was very frustrating. Great place to stay. Would never book a guided trip with them again.

I came for 5 days for my 40th birthday and I can't Thank them enough. Wes took amazing care of us at the restaurant/bar. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable with and incredible work ethic. Made us feel right at home. The ladies working the front counter at the shop were always smiling and super friendly. Tom and Alex with Perch Patrol were excellent guides, very knowledgeable and really wanted us to have a great time. you can tell they take a ton of pride in their work and I can not wait to join them in another adventure. Max was the fish cleaning wizard (paid him to clean my fish and I am still very new to it). He was easy to get ahold of and had some great conversations. I would give them all 10 stars if I could.

To start, Friday had extreme weather — 40 mph winds and -25°F. I completely understand that this is no fault of the resort, and I also understand the safety concerns of waiting until sunrise before getting guests out to their ice houses. However, once daylight came, things quickly became frustrating. By around 8:30 a.m., after the morning bite, one of the guides pointed from shore and said, “That’s your house — about a quarter mile from the landing.” It was clearly visible and very close. We easily could have been taken out earlier. Instead, we were sent out on our own, got set up, and fished for about 1.5 hours without marking anything. My wife caught one 2" fingerling walleye — that was it. Around 10:30 a.m., the guides finally came by and moved us to another house roughly a half mile
