Customer Reviews
Bad for swimming, gravel beach and half of the designated swimming area was taken over by plants. Great for camping and fishing! Very well maintained park and campsites. Most have little privacy but plenty of beautiful trees, power and water. Amazing variety of birds to watch and listen to, very relaxing. Site 124 parking is on a mound so not level, but we only needed to use two blocks. Power box has RV hookup and regular outlets so we were able to charge our e-bikes, big plus!
Grahams Island SP is one of the finer places we’ve visited. The sites are probably the largest by far we’ve encountered. Very reasonably priced at around $30 for 50a full hookups. The water is a bit hard (250 TDS) but not iron or sulfur tasting. The park employees are very friendly, Rolando and Linda were extremely helpful. I would visit again if we’re ever in the area again.
Overall ND State Parks are great for camping but this is one of the best! Sites in the Howard Campground where we stayed were huge, well maintained and quite private. We loved the large off leash dog park, super friendly staff, excellent amenities and gorgeous sunsets! This is also an excellent spot for fishing with 4 nice boat launches, plenty of space to park boats on sites and a fish processing station anyone can use!
We stayed in Grahams Island State Park for a week in August 2022. This was probably the nicest state park we've ever been to. The pull-through RV sites were long, though they need to be careful to avoid planting trees and adding signage anywhere near the roads or entrances and exits to the sites, or they will become impediments for large RVs trying to maneuver. Utilities worked great, though sewer hookup was very far back in our site for some reason. Dog park is nice, but water would be nice there. Also maybe add a few more dog waste receptacles throughout. Staff was very friendly. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here.
This was my 3rd year visiting, each time for a week long camping fishing trip. The staff are very nice and this year rocked! When we first settled into our cabin the ac wasn't cooling. We mentioned it to staff in the office and we had a new unit with in minutes. The new showers are GREAT! I would love to suggest maybe some more hooks to hang your towels and a small stand where you can set your wet items and not have to use the counter for that. I came into them after others and the counter tops were soaked and I had no where to put my dry clean change of clothes. I can not wait to return next year!
