Historic Coronado Motor Hotel by OYO

The location is on a busier road so there is road noise. The pool is small and right on the parking lot. We did not use it. The hot tub was covered and did not appear to be available. The lobby area has a table with a computer and printer, which I guess was for guest use; no sign indicated it was or wasn't. The breakfast area is in the lobby as well. They provided coffee, 2 types of cold cereal, bread, a toaster, prepackaged mini muffins, some fresh fruit, waffle maker with supplies, milk, watered down juice, butter and jelly. The executive suite is 2 rooms, one is a bedroom with a dresser and TV. The other is a basic hotel room with a sofa, bed, dresser desk and TV. I wanted to love this little hotel so much but we just couldn’t. First, the door to the room was damaged and when I say damaged the sweep on the bottom was 3/4 hanging off and rusty screws were protruding. There were overflowing garbage cans outside of the rooms and trash all over the parking lot like used rubber gloves. In the room was a little better until I dropped my brush and looked under the bed and saw 2 big huge sewer roaches, thankfully dead but still there along with other remnants of past guests. We won’t be back. Ever.

I stayed for a night on a business trip because the photos looked nice, and it was near downtown. There was old food under the bed. No soap or shampoo in the shower, just hand soap. Paint was peeling off the walls. Mold was growing in the bathtub. Poorly insulated - traffic noise was constant and loud all through the night. I woke up to roaches in the bathroom. I booked 2 nights, but the place was so bad that I left early, and the hotel and parent company would not refund the charge for the second night. The hotel seemed empty, so it is unlikely that I was given the worst room because it was all they had left.

Positive: Location was wonderful. Negative: The first room smelled terribly of disinfectant,we had to change rooms. The second room was fine.Breakfast area floor was dirty.

Have stayed at this motel many times in last few years. The staff and service had been great! However, since under new ownership it has continually gone downhill. This last stay it was even worse, coffee pot didn't work. Rooms not as well kept. The suite had only 1 wash cloth 1 hand towel and only 2 bath towels, 1 small bar of soap. Dispensers all empty. But the worst is someone affiliated with motel entered the room with the do not disturb sign in the door. Went to get some of my medications that I had put in the night stand and a couple were missing. I immediately contacted the front desk, was told no one should have been in the room. I explained someone had been and explained how I knew they had and what was missing. She said she check and get back to me...... Usually stay 2-4 nig
