Hilton San Diego/Del Mar

This is a horrible hotel in a great location. When we tried to check in at 4:15pm, our room wasn't ready yet. Not a huge deal, but the staff tried to make it right by offering me free parking. That didn't happen (after reviewing my bill upon checkout). Then my keycards didn't work, so had to return to the front desk where there was now a very long line of people checking in. Once that was corrected, got to the room and it smelled like wet dog. Yes, they allow pets, but I'm certain they don't replace the HVAC filters often, so the thought of having to smell every dog who stayed in that room before me was sickening. Our bathroom had broken tiles and the carpet was very worn and torn. The room looked like it rented by the hour. I paid over $300 for one night in a very poorly run hot

All good minus the bathroom sink leaked, which was fixed within 60 minutes: they asked them to only fix while I was inside the room, was told they were immediately available, waited 30 minutes then left for food after long drive to get there, then they fixed while not there...also the tub stopper was super difficult to lower, probably needs some C.L.R. Even after that, I still recommend Hilton... They have been good to me.

I had one night at this property, as I was attending a show at The Sound at the Del Mar Fairgrounds which is very close to the hotel. The hotel looks very inviting from the outside, but the building has a really peculiar layout. Indeed, my room was located all the way in the back of the building - furthest from the lobby and furthest from the only guest elevator in the whole building. It literally took several minutes to walk from the elevator to the room. ||My room itself (much like the hotel overall) felt worn and outdated, with a tired decor and with a view of a parking lot and a busy highway. The bathroom didn't have a separate shower, but forced you to stand in the worn tub to shower.||I did briefly try the pool, but the area wasn't that inviting, and there is no pool side service or

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and we found both the service and the room to be truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived until the time we departed, we consistently experienced outstanding hospitality. The property is clearly very well-managed, and we would like to extend our sincere compliments to the General Manager, Tim, and the entire team for providing such an excellent experience.

Positive: Pool, Spa, Hotel Bar and location were great. It's a 5 minute drive to the beach, hotel was very quiet. Negative: Bed and pillows were not comfortable. (too soft/down pillows) There were several brown stains on the wall and curtains in our room and mold in the bathroom. The night employee was rude to us both nights when we asked for something.$35 parking fee
