Hilton Garden Inn Victoria

Arguably the best hotel you'll find in Victoria, but still rather mediocre. Nice lobby. Spacious rooms (I was fortunate to get an upgrade to a suite). The bed was very comfortable. Black out shades were excellent. Staff were friendly and welcoming. On the downside... I found tiny cockroaches in one of the bathrooms and ants in the shower. All of the lighting is bright white LED...very harsh. There was an on-site coin operated laundry, but they were out of laundry detergent in the sundry store and I was told they wouldn't have change for the machines until the following week. 🫤 Still, I've stayed in every decent hotel in Victoria and this one remains on top. Hopefully they can fix the pest control problem in my room. I did notify the front desk.

Positive: The interior was really pretty. The staff was very helpful. There was only one person working during the breakfast hours and he provided excellent service despite being under staffed. Negative: ""

Checked in about 1130 and the front desk people were trying to appease another guest who apparently had the same name as another guest and they had put them in the wrong rooms, they had the most staff I’ve ever seen at a hotel like this that late at night. I was standing there on crutches though trying to wait to get checked in and they just kept trying to deal with the other guest who was obviously dealing with some stressful situations. When you see someone on crutches, wheelchair, etc and there are multiple employees work to get those people in a room. Instead of making them stand there in pain. Got checked in and got to our room, and everything was fine but when I went to take a shower, the towels that are supposed to be white, were dingy gray. Just going to suggest throw some bleach

$45 fee to check in two hours early and wouldn’t hold our bags. Expected better service when my company does a LOT of business with this property.

The location is awkward, but secluded. The rooms are pretty average. The rooms are more expensive than other Hotels but have nothing extra or special. The beds low key are not good and the pillows are really worn out. There is no breakfast or evening socials. They have a restaurant but obviously they are charging you for everything. The only thing really kind of special for this place is the hot tubs and pool, but even that is pretty average. I probably wouldn't come here again. It's not worth the money and there are better cheaper places. Really disappointed with this place.
