Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street

We have stayed at this hotel in NYC twice now. Both stays have been booked via third party companies (love holidays). First year we were allocated a room on 13th floor and had a beautiful king room with a view looking out at The Empire State Building. The second time we visited we stayed in two rooms as we asked if we could move to a king room due to the third party booking a double room, Tony on the front desk looked after us and made room switch happen. The floors we stayed in were 18th and 16th again with views of the Empire State Building which is absolutely gorgeous lit up. The rooms are very clean, and warm with blackout curtains and very comfortable beds especially after walking 30k steps daily. They have everything you need including fridge, microwave, coffee machine, wardrobes.

Do yourself a favor and request room 1906! We had a great view of the Empire State Building! This hotel is so close to shopping, food, and the train! The train entrance is literally just around the corner and you are no more than 20 minutes from one edge of Manhattan to the other! The room was spacious considering staying in the heart of Manhattan. The quick mart in the lobby is good if you are ever in a pinch late at night. I never made it to breakfast so I am not sure how that was unfortunately. Same can be said for the hotel bar. The price was right and the location was unbeatable, definitely would come back.

Super close to the unmissable attractions (up to 30mins away) and subway stations. So consider it if you have few days in the city. My room had a nice view to Empire State, which was a plus. The furniture looks old, but nothing was broken or is ugly. Daily room service. Staff was polite and nice.The only thing is that I was charged a different amount from whats was expected, I’ve raised a ticket with Trip and they confirmed with the hotel that they charged the amount as per booking, but my credit card shows a different story… not sure if this is an issue from Trip or the Hotel, but none of them cared…

Location is convenient—Garment District on 35th St, right near Penn Station, Macy's, Herald Square, and easy subway access. About 10-15 min walk to Times Square and Midtown sights—good for train travelers or shopping without being overwhelmed by crowds. Rooms were clean, comfy beds, good AC/fridge/microwave, and quiet. Solid size for NYC, modern enough, though nothing luxurious. Service was excellent—super friendly staff, warm check-in, quick help with requests, and attentive throughout. Free hot breakfast had decent variety (eggs, waffles, coffee—usually fresh). Great value and comfort—would stay again! 4 stars.

I stayed here in January for a few nights while I was in town for an event. The room had a lovely view of the Empire State Building and was clean, modern, and comfortable. The on-site breakfast options were great for days when the weather wasn’t the best for going out, and the 24/7 grab & go store was super convenient. There are lots of attractions within a walkable distance, as well as a close proximity to the subway. The staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful as well.
