We stayed at the HGI Central for a recent business trip, for which my family joined me. The receptionist Michelle could not have been more kind, thorough, professional, or caring of my family and me! She was fantastic. Unfortunately, the room wasn’t quite as wonderful as Michelle. We stayed in a 2 queen room, and also used a pack n play for our 5 month old (provided by the hotel - in great shape but came with a hotel sheet instead of an appropriately sized crib sheet - so dangerous for babies to have all that extra fabric!). We barely had any room to move around. There was maybe 15” clearance into the room between the corner of the bed and the wall. We banged our shins on it repeatedly. The beds were ok, the pillows were comfy. The bathroom had hardly any counter space, and the water press
The staff were great, every single one of them. My low rating is not because of staff. It's because the rooms are truly awful. It was the least comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Neither my husband nor me were able to get a full night's rest either night because of how low-quality the mattress and sheets were. And neither of us are picky when it comes to beds/hotel rooms -- we just didn't realize it could be this bad. The sheets were the lowest possible quality they could find, it seems. The top sheet gave me the heebie-jeebies, and not because it was unclean - again, this was not a staff issue - it was because it was so obviously straight polyurethane cheapness. Basic rooms were going for $685/night this particular weekend -- I get that you're in a good location, but can you invest a l
On a last minute trip to NYC we had the pleasure of staying the night at the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square. Upon arrival we were greeted by Michelle and G who made dropping off our bags a breeze before we went to explore the city. Once check in was available we came back and Michelle helped us get our bags and room keys so we could get set up before braving the cold to find dinner! The beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms were very clean, and spacious enough for two adults to navigate with 3 large suitcases and one carry on. The showers had great water pressure!! But back to Michelle and G! We were lucky enough to have the pleasure of working with them during checkout. Michelle made sure we got our parking discount and that we had everything we needed to (sadly) leave the hotel and
This was by far the worst Hilton stay I’ve ever experienced. From the moment I walked in, the entire vibe was off. The front desk agent, Maria, was very kind and clearly trying her best, but she seemed undertrained and unsure. She told me my credit card was “invalid” and that the hotel reserved the right to cancel my reservation, something I’ve never heard before. Normally, every Hilton I stay at simply authorizes the card at check in. She also wasn’t sure if they even had a room for me and had to check with her manager. That’s when things became much worse. The young female manager was incredibly rude, glaring at me, rolling her eyes, and acting completely uninterested in helping. My first room was filthy: hair on the bed, dirty pillows, smudges on surfaces, and overall unclean condition
Great location, especially for Times Square, everything is within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A big plus is that they accept your luggage before check-in time, which made our arrival much easier. Pros: • Excellent central location • Very friendly and welcoming staff • Luggage storage available before check-in Cons: • Rooms are a bit small However, when you’re in New York, you usually only come back to the hotel to sleep, so the room size wasn’t a big issue for us. Overall, a very convenient and pleasant stay.
