Hill Country Retreat is an absolute gem tucked away in the 35-acre Blanco hill country. We hosted our women’s art and wellness retreat here, and it exceeded every expectation. From the beginning, Marlena was incredible—warm, attentive, and always ready to help with our guests’ accommodations or anything else we needed. Her hospitality truly elevated our experience. The property itself is stunning, not just for its natural beauty but for its heart and craftsmanship. It’s amazing to see how so much of the retreat center is built from repurposed materials, and you can feel the care and creativity in every detail. Though I didn’t have the chance to meet Eugene, I’m genuinely impressed by the carpentry and the dedication that both Marlena and Eugene poured into creating this unique space. Hi

We had our wedding here two weeks ago and I swear this venue was by far the best vendor decision we made for our day. Guests were talking about it all weekend and asking where we found such a place. I was immediately drawn to this place when I looked at the website and about 5 minutes in to our tour, my husband and I were sold! It was great to have the place both the evening before and morning after to make set up and cleanup smoother and having our wedding party stay with us was so fun! Everyone loved the treehouse especially! Marlena was so easy to work with and was always quick to answer my questions in detail. Hill Country Nature Retreat was truly the perfect place for our wedding. From the very first visit, we knew it was special, peaceful, beautiful, and full of thoughtful touches that made the whole weekend feel so personal and relaxed. Our guests were completely blown away by how stunning and comfortable the property is. Between the gorgeous scenery, the well-maintained cabins, and all the little details that make it feel so welcoming, it created exactly the atmosphere we wanted: laid-back, joyful, and connected to nature. Marlena and Eugene were incredible to work with. They were kind, responsive, and genuinely cared about making our experience seamless from start to finish. Everything went smoothly, and we felt so supported the entire time.

We had our wedding here in October and it was amazing. The venue made the wedding feel special, unique and polished. The venue can be used how you want and customizable. The views from the cabins are beautiful, great photo ops. The owners were incredible at answering all of our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here and/or booking your event. I can wait to go back for our anniversaries.

Wow, this place is such an inspiration. I stayed here for a one night women’s retreat and left feeling so rejuvenated. The property is beautifully laid out with juniper and oak trees everywhere and it’s SO quiet - which is something really hard to find so close to the city. My favorite parts were all the little details in each of the buildings. I was blown away to find out the owners built everything themselves from reclaimed materials. You can tell everything was made with such intent and an artistic mind. I stayed in the tree house which is such a cool building! The rooftop deck was such an amazing place to star gaze and welcome the sunrise in the morning with 360 views. I liked how each of the accommodations were a little set away from another.
