Highlander Motor Inn

I had to do a last minute booking, the day before, to stay on a Saturday night, and hotels in the area and in Atlantic City were very expensive! I got a room here one night, king with jetted tub, for a little under two hundred dollars. In my thoughts, I referred to the hotel as a dump before I arrived, as I hardly ever stay at a motel, but was hopeful it wouldn't be that bad, but was also being realistic. IT was WORSE than I could have EVER Imagined.... I had stayed at the Garden Inn a few doors down the previous Saturday while in the area and while it wasn't great, it wasn't that bad, and I would definitely return to stay there. ||||When I arrived, I had a good first impression, as the parking lot was painted and freshly sealed pavement, looked good! The building itself is in decent shape

Positive: Location Negative: Owner/manager was rather rude and curt. Price was unrealistic for what the hotel offered. Hotel room was incredibly dusty with the filthiest remote control device I ever handled. Thank GOD I travel with Lysol disinfectant!

Positive: Roaches did not appreciate that. Had them move to another room on the first floor did not sleep well at all. Negative: They have roach problems. I did not like that at all. Would like to get some of my money back and know that ain’t happening overcharge for the room

The owner is very attentive and sweet she is willing to accommodate everyone's needs. We had booked a smoking room by mistake and because we are non smokers she switched us to a non smoking room. Even when we came to her for something she attended us with friendly service and offered to be there whenever we needed her. This place is in a good location near alot of things and close to Atlantic city even if you're a commuter and dont have a car the bus takes you there directly and its in the corner.

The room was comparable to the price per night. Was it the cleanest? No but honestly it just needed to be vacuumed, the bathroom needed to be cleaned and the bedding/bed could use some attention (stains) but we brought our quilt and pillows from home. There were no bed bugs or roaches to be seen. Clean towels and the heating and air conditioning worked great. Shower was pretty big with lots of shelf space for toiletries. Staff was very nice when we needed towels and a new room key. Overall quiet place that was so much more affordable than staying in AC which is only 15 minutes away. 10/10 would stay again. Smoker friendly word of advice DO NOT GO TO DENNYS!
