A perfect location, walking distance to everything. A great value for Aspen. It’s a warm cozy hotel where guests get to know each other over breakfast or wine in the afternoon. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The rooms give you the vintage feel of Aspen.

I have been skiing Aspen since 1972 and except for the last few years taking a sabbatical, Hearthstone House has been my reliable fun choice for around 15 vacations since 2005. Unfortunately, the staff is now indifferent, inconsiderate, rude, and generally not available after 6:30 pm. The ill-trained staff is only half the problem with the once wonderful hotel itself going in deep disrepair. I reserved my favorite room back in October 2024 for an 8-night stay in March 2025 and this is what I experienced.||||Problem 1: My central room heat was not functioning. I regret not reporting the issue sooner but staff was difficult to pin down, and I didn’t want to deliver my complaint at breakfast in public. When I did report the lack of heat, staff came across as already knowing that my heat

It is a nice property, walking distance to all shops, restaurants in Aspen. I was in Aspen over July 4 week, 2025. ||We made reservations for this property since we’re returning to Aspen over Labor Day weekend.||I physically went to The Hearthouse, looked at it, and reserved two rooms for three days. They took 50% deposit (about $1600). Later that evening, I got a voicemail that they cancelled my reservation because they oversold their property over Labor Day weekend.||I called Scott, the property GM. He confirmed that they did oversell and his employee should have never rented me those rooms. He offered no apologies, no discount for future stays. It was very unprofessional. They have yet to refund my 50% deposit.

Wonderful, best location in Aspen. It is always what you want but I do not want to change it to one of these expensive places. |Very family and friendly.|Breakfast is perfect.|Wine and Cheese is great after a skiing day.|Met so many nice people.|We will come back.

Quaint BNB in Downtown Aspen, super close to everything and more affordable than most other options nearby (though still expensive, but that’s Aspen). Location is great; just a 8 minute walk to the Silver Queen gondola that takes you up Aspen Mountain and walking distance to anything in town. Staff was very friendly, personable and helpful. They have a Apres ski reception with wine and cheese every night (didn’t attend but looked nice), and a continental breakfast every morning with coffee, bagels, omelettes, etc. Small hot tub in front yard. Room was comfy, though a bit dated. Enjoyed our stay here and would stay again
