Heart of New York Suites

SCAM ALERT. Like what the previous reviews listed, this place is not what you’d expect it to be from visiting listings on Orbitz and Expedia. While you think you’ve booked “1 room” for “1 adult”, you will realize it’s actually a hostel. You will be informed last minute that you will share a kitchen (fine), bathroom (ok…??), and the bedroom (!!), with three people (wait a minute) of the opposite gender (WOW!). None of their photos on Orbitz show any bunk bed or signs of it being a hostel. The “shared amenities” texts also do not indicate that what’s being shared is the bedroom itself. They do not allow checking in after 8. When you reach out you talk to an Ontario based number with static-filled background noise. Shady to the extreme.

Total scam!! We booked a room for 2 nights that said it had 2 queens (and showed pics of a sofa bed as well). Did not mention shared bathroom. Got a call a few hours before the stay (while on the plane) stating they only check in between 4-8pm and since our flight arrived at 8 they couldn’t accommodate. I asked if there is any way we can pay to check in late as we have young children and we’re arriving in just a couple of hours with no place else to stay. They said no and also said they only had one queen bed but could get a queen air mattress, and that it’s a shared bathroom (hostel set up). He asked if we would like to cancel and I Said yes as we could not physically get there by 8pm. Now they refuse to refund our $700 payment because they have a “no cancellation “ policy. Omg!!! I wish I would have read these reviews !! We totally got scammed here!! we booked through Expedia and it was me and my elderly mother and my granddaughter we arrived at heart of New York at 12 PM with our luggage on 12/4 and All and we asked if we could store the luggage until check-in. They said no they do not have a front desk and there’s nothing they can do and do not show up until 4 PM so here we are walking the streets of New York in the cold with big luggage and mind you my elderly mother and granddaughter this is just a few minutes getting into New York and this is what we are experiencing and then I get calls also saying that I need to put a deposit of $500 and I will get it back when I check out. I don’t know where the heck that came from and also he calls me and says that

This experience was very disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it at all. The address listed is not the same as the actual location. Additionally, I was informed by someone from there, that I would have to share a bathroom with four men, and as a married woman, that was unacceptable. I ended up losing $500 because I canceled my reservation upon hearing that.

SCAM!!! Please don't stay here. FALSE ADVERTISING!!! What gets me is that EXPEDIA is part of this SCAM. They stole $750 from me because I refused to stay and share rooms, kitchen, restroom, and bathroom with seven other people. Prior to your arrival you will get text messages and calls from Martin "front desk", he will list you all the restrictions about you stay.... ESTAFA!!! Por favor no te quedes en este lugar. Vas perder tu dinero como me paso a mi. Te pintan todo muy bonito y cuando quieres hacer check in, te llenan de restricciones, entre ellas hacer que te quedes con otras personas en la misma habitacion y asi como compartir bano, banera y cocina. Lo peor de esto, es que EXPEDIA esta al tanto y no van a hacer nada para regresarte tu dinero.
