Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Cincinnati NE/Mason

The receptionist Jessica was a delight and a pleasure to work with. She was funny and nice and explained everything to my family and I throughly, eliminated any space for confusion. Her smile was a nice thing to see when walking in after a long day of travel. She was very respectful and knowing of her job and had the answers to our questions without having to “find out” she is very knowledgeable and welcome. She made the stay 100 times more pleasant. I will return based on her professionalism, grace, and that smile.

I must say from reading the reviews after I booked, I was terrified. I took everything but the kitchen sink with me for cleaning and sterilizing. I didn't need any of it. I was pleasantly surprised that my room was great. I had two very comfortable queen beds and a nice couch with a very small kitchen. It was nice for me and my husband. I didn't give 5 stars only because there were a few hairs in the bathroom and a stain on the wall. I will definitely return. The staff was very nice, and the breakfast was good. It's a fantastic neighborhood (Costco, Ross, Target. Burger King etc.). I didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked good. You even have pits for barbequing. It was 90 degrees and the air in our room kept us cool.

The pics online looked good. But once we got there the hallways and elevator were dirty. The room had no kitchen stuff. The bathroom shower ceiling had a hole in it and a vent that looked like it was cleaned, well, never with an inch of fuzz on it. The tub was filthy. The walls had a bunch of drill holes in them. The furniture in the bedroom was all broken up. No hangers in the closet. The place was full of vagrants and people doing drugs in cars in the parking lot. There were cigarette butts everywhere. While we were unloading luggage a couple was have a domestic disturbance in the parking lot, and a drunk guy was urinating on a bush. Did not feel safe there at all despite being in a decent neighborhood. There appeared to be people living in their vehicles as well. The beds were comfortab

Positive: Nothing. Negative: This hotel was awful. I plan on turning them in to the health department and fire marshall. There was mold in the room. The tvs did not work. There were exposed electrical outlets. And the floor was soaked from the AC that barely worked.

The staff was the only good thing about this hotel. The maintenance guy was the best! Filthy carpets in hallway and stairs. Elevator does not work. Room carpet and floors were unswept with crumbs and trash on them. Do not move furniture as you don’t want to know what is under/behind it! Found 1/2 eaten sandwich under the trash bag in the trash can. The can itself smelt horrible and was filthy. I bought disinfecting wipes to wipe everything down. I would have not even stayed but I had already paid. Will never stay here again.
