Hampton Inn Uvalde

Go somewhere else. They charge for parking at a suburban property and don’t offer daily housekeeping. The employees are friendly but the hotel is in desperate need of a major renovation. I was immediately unimpressed with the hotel conditional and the ripoff parking charge, so I tried to cancel my room at check-in, but they refused, even though the reservation was made within an hour of my arrival. I’ll go to the Holiday Inn Express across the street next time I am in the area.

My room was exactly what I was looking for but the door to my room did not latch closed when I got there. The gentleman at the front desk helped figure it out and it finally latched. The bathroom floor was sticky in a few places and the carpet needed to be vacuumed but the room was great otherwise. Water in the shower was steaming hot and exactly what I needed after a long day. I did not like the fee for parking my car and it was quite unexpected.

The complimentary breakfast was BAD. Their hot dishes consisted of an omelet with greasy cheese (grease visible), slices of polish sausage (never seen polish sausage served for breakfast before) sitting in an inch of grease and potatoes. Worst hotel breakfast we've ever seen.

It wasn’t very clean and I had a partial roll of toilet paper. The front desk clerk did run one up for me. There are men doing some work and the door was left propped open all evening.

I am Hilton lifetime Diamond Member. I stay at Hampton Inn (since I travel for work) on average of three times per week. For some reason, the Hampton Inn in Uvalde (which is 75 miles from San Antonio in a remote small town in Texas) has started charging for parking! Unbelievable. THIS IS A SCAM, SINCE YOU DON'T FIND THIS OUT UNTIL YOU CHECK IN TO THE HOTEL. I told the Front Desk about this upon check in. If you need more money, add it to your rate so we can all compare rates fairly. I'm staying today at a Hampton Inn in San Antonio, one mile from the airport, and they don't charge for parking. Very disappointing.
