Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix/Scottsdale on Shea Boulevard

I chose this hotel because I was visiting family in the Scottsdale area and I didn't need a resort, just a good place to stay. The location is convenient and they don't charge for parking, which is a plus. |I chose Room 334, a King Bed overlooking the courtyard. It was a quiet room, although I was also blessed to have other guests who were quiet during my stay. The room was cleaned well, passed my Swiffer Test and they made sure the room was feather-free. The mattress is covered with a 5-sided fitted cover. The HVAC unit kept my room at a consistent temperature and the humuduty level was about 39 percent. I booked this location, Hampton Inn Scottsdale, because I was given a discounted rate for three nights. I was, however, required to attend a two hour time share presentation with no expectations. I was told by the booking agent it was a 40 minute drive to Tucson which was my intended destination. I had to drive to the off-site presentation location which was not close to the Hampton Inn Scottsdale where I was booked for the discounted stay. The presentation location was not easy to find due to numerical addresses in the area and the resort itself were not posted. Although the sales presentation experience was pleasant, the booking agent was not forthright about the location and logistics. Lastly, I didn't stay in Scottsdale but for one night and headed to Tucson for one night. I was

Positive: Pool was warm Negative: Finding lobby for checkin was chaotic. 5 signs outside saying 1/4 mile that way, or by conference center... I stopped 3 times and walked all over to find where I should check in. Also signs to lazy river sucked. Again, walked all over trying to find it.

Went to Phoenix for a weekend trip. Wanted a place central to our itenerary of visiting the Phoenix Zoo for Zoo Lights and attractions the Aquarium and walking around Old Town with a day trip to Sedona as well. It worked out well for us. The property is situated in/near a residential neighbourhood and so it also allowed a chance to eat at a nearby great breakfast spot and visit an In N Out. The location feels quiet and safe. The property is clean and our rooms were big and clean as well. Parking included is a nice touch as properties closer to ,or in Old Town often add that. Yet it was quick and easy to get onto a few major roads and the freeway making driving around with a rental car Courtyard area was quiet and lush and so it provided for a nice quiet environment. I’ve stayed in 100’s of Hamptons before I get into it. ||The property was well laid out presented well/clean. It’s also in a great location. ||The rooms were nice and modern enough. HOWEVER room cleaning needs to be taken up a notch. Debris on the floor, hair on sheets, hair on roof over shower, soap build up from previous stays. ||The good news is this is easily fixed and the property will meet that Hampton standard.
