We stayed here while visiting out daughter in college. The hotel itself is conveniently located in the area. The room was very clean and very very comfortable- and the price was so reasonable. Hotel staff was accommodating. A nice breakfast was included with our stay and there's a great little nook of a shop in the lobby with snacks and drinks. We will definitely stay here again for our future visits!
Stayed here twice in September. On way north to Maine and south to Maryland. Tried to cancel on way back but had a 48 hour cancellation. Sorta up to date but second time bathtub was dirty and towels stained . Breakfast not the best. Powered eggs and bad sausage. Second time there most of the food gone by 9. Breakfast till 10. I am a Hilton member and was not recognized at all. Usually at least get free water bottles….
We arrived quite late at night, but were warmly welcomed by the friendly front desk staff. We stayed just for one night, but we really enjoyed our stay. The area around the hotel has plenty of restaurants and markets, so even late at night, it’s easy to find what you need. However, the breakfast was quite disappointing—very limited options and not up to the standard we expected.
I planned to escape from NYC by public transportation and that was a horrible choice!!! Google Maps mistakenly showed that it's walkable from a train station (West Haven), but it doesn't - there is no sidewalk at all. Nothing is walkable here. My younger son is a big fan of Hampton Inn, but this one is not a good one. First of all, because we had a hard time getting there. Second, a pool which was supposed to work during our stay and it was one of the main reasons why we went there was closed. Third, a very unexpected and frustrating situation happened. I wanted to take an apple to my son which was in the big bowl next to us at the table, but a worker ran in front of us and just took away the bowl. I don't understand why and what motivated him to do this, but it was very rude. Also,
We drove from Florida to Connecticut, and check-in was a breeze. The digital key card didn't work through the app though. We stayed for almost a week, and the person at the front desk when we arrived was friendly, helpful, and kind. Our group included four adults, a four-year-old, and two dogs. The hotel was definitely dog-friendly, which we appreciated, but it would’ve been even better if they had a designated fenced-in pet area for dogs to play safely. Now for the most important part—the room. The bedroom was clean, though the carpet felt a little sticky, which may be expected in a pet-friendly hotel. Overall, the bathroom and beds were clean and a good size. The bathroom was spacious, and I liked that the shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion were all mounted on the wall and easy
