We had a great stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Dundee. The hotel itself is modern, very clean, and in a convenient location close to Cabela’s, Russell Stover, and downtown Dundee. Each room has a special decor "touch" as well. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well laid out. The bathroom was a big plus — large counter space, a roomy sink area, and a door that fully separates the bathroom from the rest of the room, which is a thoughtful touch for privacy. The bed was comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well-maintained. Amenities were solid, with free WiFi, parking, hot breakfast, a heated indoor pool, and a nice fitness room. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The only real downfall was the “kitchen” setup. It had just a mini fridge, a small microwave, and a sink — but no d
Positive: It’s a newer hotel and the common areas were tidy. Negative: The bathroom was not clean. There were beard trimmings in the sink, a hair tie on the floor, and towels & washcloths were used and wadded up on the shelves. The guy in the breakfast area loudly complained about his employer and yelled at coworkers.
Allow me to state that I spent 2 nights at the #1 hotel in Dundee to transfer to this hotel. The experience was a night and day difference. Front desk staff at check-in was amazing. The gentleman was friendly and very accommodating. The room was large and clean. The room smelled fresh. The carpets were clean. The bedding was clean and the TV worked. The bed was amazingly comfortable. I was comfortable. The room was equipped with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. This is actually the best hotel in Dundee. The breakfast offerings were good; two types of waffles, egg frittatas, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, citrus peach juice.
We have stayed in several Hamptons in the last 4 weeks and this is the only Hampton that did not have a Smart TV and the TV channels that were available were junk in my opinion. The night we stayed the hotel was practically empty and they put us in a room next to the elevators even though we are Silver Members. I did not find the front desk to be that friendly - which is not the case with other Hamptons. We have pets - there was a designated pet area but I had to crawl over a bank of snow to get to it - fell trying to get back over to the street.
This is my preferred hotel when I am in the area. The location is close to plenty of restaurants and across the road from Cabela’s. The hotel is a bit older but the staff seem to maintain it well and it has always been clean. I have never had any issues staying here and with the location being more secluded, it always offers a quiet night.
