American Inn and Suites Dundee

So booked a room for a night here for a friend caus they said sent a the name and said this hotel would be fine. Let me tell you never again! I'm glad they travel with their own shower stuff, due to fact it looks like the bathroom stuff had been used before and not replaced. The fire detector was hanging down. The heater took a good fifteen minutes to start working. The refrigerator had mold all in it. The cracks in the ceiling where going into the bathroom from the room. I would not recommend this place at all. The only reason I gave two stars on location is because of walking distance of places for food when the weather is decent.

By far the worst experience ever! The hallway was cluttered with misc. items lying about, there was a horrible smell, and appeared to be unkept. The room, even worse! Musty order, smelled like wet dog. Rugs were disgusting, room appeared to be unkept/uncleaned. Within an hour had an allergic reaction, most like from the cat that was running around in the room across the hall. Asked the front desk for refund, indicated the “manager” would call, as you can imagine, never did. We left within an hour of arrival and ended up in a different hotel. Would caution anyone wanting a “good deal” or “cheap room”, the pictures on the website ARE NOT what you’ll get. Not even close. Did not bother calling back and requesting a refund, not worth the effort given the attitude by the front desk and other on

Positive: Nothing Negative: Everything. First off sketchy drug addicts lived there. Everything was broken and nasty filthy. People yelling in the hallways Marijuana smoke coming in through the adjoining door to the room. This place should not be an option for people to stay at.

Saturday, October 18, 2025 - I hastily booked a room here for my daughter and I when the hotel I was supposed to stay at called to inform me that "they didn't actually have a room for me" and were overbooked. When we pulled up to this run-down property, it immediately felt unsafe. Before getting out of the car, I looked up the cancelation policy, and saw that I would not likely be getting a refund. I told my daughter we would check it out and go from there. We didn't even bring our bags in. The lobby smelled off, but not entirely unpleasant. We got to our room on the second floor and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned. Someone just went and half-ass fixed the blankets on the beds after they'd been slept in by the previous guests. Absolutely disgusting. Made a reservation to stay here after a family members wedding and we live 3 hours away. $110 for a room that was so nasty, it made my skin crawl and I had to take a hot shower. The idea of walking barefoot on the stained carpet made me want to gag. The vent above the shower was so dusty and gross like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. Around the toilet had dirt and grime. The bed skirts had stains and chunks of something, and a long acrylic nail was present at the base of the bed. I could go on and on but what made us leave within under 2 hours of checking in, was the massive blood stains on the mattress. I’m talking massive. Absolutely disgusting, have not gotten a refund.
