Hampton Inn Manhattan Grand Central

The hotel is midway between the UN and Grand Central Station. About a 20 minute walk to Times Square. A few restaurants, coffee shops and pubs within a couple of blocks ||The price was very reasonable on a Hilton Honors prepaid reservation. Parking is available nearby through Spot Hero for less than the hotel’s valet parking, depends on price or convenience for you. Or walk from the train. ||The breakfast was half a step above normal Hampton Inn quality, but it could be very crowded. ||They did daily housekeeping, and the cleaning was pretty good. However, the single queen bed took up most of the room, the bathroom was tiny, with an awkward barn door. There was some noise from nearby rooms, elevators, and the ice machine. Good location! All the people in this hotel were amazing, especially the woman who was here for the breakfast, always smiling! Even if our room was not ready because of an issue, the hotel was nice, I Will be back if I plan a new trip in NYC

I had a very good experience at this hotel. The location is excellent — very convenient and close to major attractions and public transportation, which made getting around New York City super easy. The floor we stayed on seemed newly renovated and everything looked modern and clean. The only issue we had was a small problem with the heater in our room. What really stood out was the service. The woman at the front desk who works the night shift was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. When we had the heater issue, she was very attentive and made sure to assist us right away. We just returned from our first trip to NYC. We wanted to find something that was near public transportation which it was near the subways. The lobby is small the breakfast area is larger. I wanted to hi-light the amazing housekeeping staff. Our first morning we rushed out to see the city. We had things all over didn’t realized we left a mess and didn’t think our room would get refreshed. We usually leave a do not disturb up but we forgot. When we got back, our things were all set aside nicely while the beds were made. Our things on the sink were organized and neatly put into cups. We were shocked at the attention and care. As a Diamond member, this hotel fell far below my expectations for Hilton hotels. When we first arrived in our room, the thermostat was set to 85 degrees and it was very uncomfortable. The next thing I noticed was a moldy smell. I am not sure where that was coming from. I’ve never been a fan of the sliding doors for bathrooms because it doesn’t offer enough privacy, but this one was unbelievable. The door was an inch too narrow and stuck out at least an inch. It didn’t offer any privacy at all. Finally, you might find a couple of good outlets in the room. I found out the hard way and found out in the morning that my phone didn’t charge.
