Hampton Inn Ithaca

Rooms were clean and nice. Road noise was loud. I stayed two nights, and when I came back at the end of a long day at a conference my room was not made up. I asked about this at the front desk, and there was nobody in the lobby to help me out. When I asked the next morning, they said they only turn over the rooms every other day. What?!?!?! I'm a Hilton Honors member, paying an average price of over $375 per night before taxes. You can't even make my bed? Indoor pool was closed for maintenance. I was switched out of the room type I booked for maintenance. Nobody was in the entire lobby when I checked in (had to wait almost 10 minutes), and the next night when I wanted to ask about my room not being serviced. Disappointing stay. While it may be "recently renovated," it stinks like an old cigarette-soaked motel. The room was clean for what it was and you can tell that they recently replaced some fixtures. However, new fixtures or not - it smells. I can't say whether this is unique to the room I was in or is property-wide. As other reviews have noted, if you are on the road side you will hear loud traffic. I was awoke in the middle of the night from a tractor-trailer riding its air-brake by the property. And lastly, perhaps most infuriatingly, this is the only Hampton Inn I've ever stayed at that charges for parking. Pros:|Spacious room, furnishings in good shape, good blackout curtains, and a comfy king bed.||The bathroom is roomy, well-lit, and has a separate exhaust fan. Positive: Price was perfect and the pool are was nice Negative: The breakfast was mediocre. When a hotel says there is breakfast I expect something that is hot and a good selection of bagels and waffles.?. The eggs were gross and there was no coffee. Also they ran out of plates and forks.

Location is what makes this a perfect stay, right at the middle of the Ithaca. Rooms are standard, ours has a “hard to close door”. 24 hours coffee isn’t great, don’t bother. Breakfast spread was standard and well stocked. We visited during a busy race time and hotel was fully booked and it was quite expensive too. Kids had some good time in the pool.
