Hampton Inn Grand Rapids South

One night stay! It was great! The only thing I didn’t like is that it felt like the bathroom sink was a little off and spraying more on the counter than in the sink. Also, there was some construction going on and I was awaken bright and early to drilling, sounded like it was in my ear. Construction shouldn’t be happening, waking people up at 8am, and rather in the afternoon, when guests check out and it’s not in the morning. Breakfast was good too! Also, the pool was out of order which was a bummer!

I stayed here for 1 night after visiting the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum. The hotel is very convenient to highway 131 and highway 6.|My room was just OK. While the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, the bathroom was not so great. The room itself could have used a good cleaning as there was dust everywhere. The bathroom had hair all over the place; on the floor, in the sink, in the toilet and in the shower. The bathroom sink faucet had barely a drip of water to wash your hands or brush your teeth. This was reported to the front desk and the gal didn't seem all that surprised.|At the time of my stay, there was a heat advisory for the area and it seemed as though the hotel was having difficulty keeping the hallways and elevators cool. Positive: leaving at check out... Negative: the first room had the bathtub i requested, but a barking dog in the next room made me change rooms, the next room the thermostat was broken, it was 80 degrees in there, the next room was nice but no bathtub, the last room on our 2 day weekend was nice

All the staff were very friendly. Very clean, and the breakfast was good. Hot coffee available all day even pretty late at night. There's a couple restaurants right next door and across the street as well as a gas station making getting meals and snacks very convenient. The rooms are very nice and the beds were comfortable. I enjoyed my stay. The pool looked very nice too. I didn't go in myself but from what I could see they kept it very clean.

I booked this hotel cuz it was close to a local attraction that I was taking my niece to. I also specifically booked it because of the hot tub. Upon arrival, I learned the location was under construction. Our room was on the third floor. The room was 78° when we arrived. I had to turn the air conditioner on to keep it below 70. There was no couch in the room. The front desk indicated they had been sent out for some sort of upgrade. So comfort and sitting in the room was not ideal. The hot tub was scalding hot! Definitely way more than 120°. Probably closer to 140°. Cindy from the front desk did her best to help. She had someone come back in and they made it better but you could only sit in it for about 5 minutes and your skin was very red. She said it would be better in the morning and it
