Hampton Inn Clemson-University Area

Overall our stay was good at Hampton inn! It was a good deal for free breakfast. You can tell it’s on the older side but everything is maintained well. My one complaint is that there was zero drinking water minus the tiny bottles given with breakfast - the fountains were out of order.

Its been a little while since I stayed here but I saw i never left a review. Ive stayed here a few times and its one of 3 in the area I prefer depending on which one shows up in my company policy rates on hotel engine. I always sleep well here. I really like the decor in the rooms, especially the desk area and the cool blinds. Breakfast is always good and the staff is always friendly and chill.

The hotel is older but still offers solid quality and good cleanliness. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a walk to and around the lake is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Melissa made sure there were plenty of options for breakfast and provided a clean, warm, and welcoming environment. We have stayed here multiple times over several months to perform work in the area. The only complaint is seating in the rooms. Unless you select a suite with a coach (which costs more), the only seating is your bed or an office chair. They previously offered a regular chair making it the ideal place to stay. Bringing these back would boost my review.

For the prices that this hotel charges for Clemson game weekends it should be kept on top shape. Sadly it is run down, smelly, and extremely dirty. The beds are so uncomfortable and badly need to be replaced. The pillows are laughably bad and small. While the choices are limited in Clemson anywhere has to be better than this. The lack of recent reviews makes me think that bad reviews are being removed somehow. The kicker to the bad experience is that they wrote my room number in sharpie on my key! God forbid you lose your key, a dishonest person would know what where to go. So dumb.

This past week I stayed at this location and best part was just how wonderful the staffing is at this location. The two who stood out the most are Shaquille and Joy, they were an absolute delight and so attentive. Truly, the staff were as hospitable and kind as could be and it has far exceeded any previous experiences I have had at a Hampton location before.
