Courtyard by Marriott Clemson

Overall the stay at the Courtyard Clemson was adequate. Vickie at the front desk was very friendly and made our stay enjoyable. While the outside of building is nice, once you walk inside you quickly can see this just an average Courtyard. My biggest issue was with the housekeeping service. Upon entering the room a bottle cap from a previous guest beer was on the floor, the conditioner in the shower was out, and when it was our day for housekeeping service we asked that she come back in 1 hour which she never did.

We have been loyal Marriott Bonvoy members for years, but after this experience, we are canceling our membership. What happened at this property was nothing short of a bait-and-switch. I called the hotel at 10:00 p.m. to ask about last-minute cancellations. I was told the nightly rate was $799 (which matched their website). I specifically asked if they could honor two nights for a total of $799, since I know most places have a two-night minimum. The front desk agent checked with the manager, “Chad,” and confirmed they would honor that price. Based on that agreement, I booked the room. Less than an hour after checking in, I noticed a charge of $1,850 on my credit card. This is my go to place when I am in town. The rooms are clean and the hotel is well maintained.

The hotel staff did a bait and switch on us last night at the Clemson Marriot. Scheduled a last minute hotel stay and the front desk staff quoted us two nights for one price but charged us four times the rate! We were lied to and the front desk to manager communication was not clear when we made the reservation. We immediately contacted the front desk about the mistake and they claimed that was the correct rate despite the price they quoted us on the phone. I am very disappointed in Marriot and will not be returning to this hotel ever again.

We stayed at the Courtyard Clemson over Spring Break and had a great experience. From check-in to checkout, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay easy and enjoyable.||They honored our request for connecting rooms without any issues, upgraded us to a nicer setup, and provided a late checkout with no hassle. Everything was smooth and stress-free, which made a big difference for our family trip.||As a fun bonus, we even spotted the Savannah Bananas team in the lobby during our stay!||Thank you to the entire team for the warm hospitality and for helping make our visit to Clemson so comfortable. We’ll definitely stay here again the next time we're in town.
