Hampton Inn Cedar City

Was hoping to get farther along but ended up here - should have kept driving even tired. Arrived & first thing I noticed was the sign saying they were remodeling the 1st floor. Ok, it seemed like just the lobby - NO it was the entire 1st floor. Rooms had punch lists next to them. That should have been mentioned when I called and the rate reduced. Neither happened. I was assigned a room on the 1st floor. No notes, ok BUT the flipper u-lock was holding the door open, which was clue #1. Walked in & while it looked new, there was a smell besides "reno". Someones leftovers were in the fridge. Promptly went back to the desk & after some work she found a room on the 2nd floor. Went up, it was better (obviously not ""done" yet), but there was no fridge. They removed the microwaves from the rooms even though their website still shows them in room photos—misleading at best. Housekeeping does not clean rooms during the stay; rooms are only cleaned after checkout. There are also no nearby garbage cans for disposing of trash, which becomes a problem when housekeeping is not provided. Additionally, as a Diamond member, I was disappointed that my room was changed after I had already checked in through the app and selected a specific room. This change was made to accommodate another guest who extended their stay, even though I had made my reservation months in advance. This experience did not reflect the level of service expected for loyalty members.

Extremely pleasant staff. 5 stars go to "Krystal" on the front desk for going the extra mile by making our stay extra special. Made calls to help us make dinner reservations and called corporate to insure our member rate.

I wish I read the reviews before staying. I did not realize that this hotel was going undergoing renovations. This is the worst place I have ever stayed. And I’ve stayed at a lot of different hotels. The key pad on the side door doesn’t work probably because it didn’t even close all the way. So anyone could walk in. Thats scary. When we walk to the elevator it was really horrible looking. Paint peeled and chipped everywhere, the walls look horrible - I believe it was wallpaper or something like that- it was peeling. The smell was gross. Even for renovations this was beyond horrible. My room was not renovated. We were in the 2nd floor. Everything in our room was old, broken, peeling, missing stuff. Couch was peeling, bathroom title was cracked and broken.
