Griffin Hotel, an official Colonial Williamsburg Hotel

This is a lovely hotel. It's run by the Williamsburg Inn, so you have access to a lot of the same amenities. The atmosphere is so peaceful. I had a water view room, which overlooked the pond. The sound of the fountain was so soothing. If I'd gone in the summer, I would have spent a bunch of time on the balcony. The room itself was very spacious. I had the king bed room. There was a table and two chairs, an arm chair, a couch, a nightstand, a desk, an end table next to the couch, a sink outside the bathroom, plus another inside the bathroom, and a dresser. I made use of all the furniture. I brought my own bagels for breakfast and had take out for dinner one night, so the table and chairs were great. The couch and the bed were very comfortable. As a frequent visitor to Colonial Williamsburg, we have never stayed at the Griffin, but will not stay here again unless it gets a complete renovation! Rooms (one for my husband and I, and one for our daughters) were both tacky, dreary, old, musty and furniture looked like hand me downs broken and with gross stains. And on top of a fairly pricey room rate we were charged a resort fee of $30 a day. Unbelievable! We couldn’t use the pool because it was cold and I don’t golf so the resort vibe wasn’t worth $30 a day!! Parking lot was dark and hard to navigate at night. Oh, No Elevator! Be prepared to climb steps with your luggage 😩! No breakfast included. No microwave! Faucets leak, mold around ceiling by fireplace and in bathroom, no bedspread just a top sheet, TV is way to small for the

There was shuttle car available for the guests within the historical areas. The drivers were really great.especially Adrian.Thank you for a great time.

I realize the rooms are out dated but it is so quiet and we love that it is dog friendly and the outdoor patios are great! The rooms are also huge which is nice for gathering with friends and family. However, we had issues with the heating that weren’t fixed and the rooms could have been cleaned much better. Keep in mind, if you want to plug in your phone at the bedside bring an extension cord or extra long charging cords.

This hotel is an annex of the Williamsburg Hotel. As such, it doesn’t have its own front desk for check in or a dining room. However, it is much cheaper and our room was nicely appointed. We chose a view of the pond and had a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pond.||Negatives - needs a grab bar for the bath tub and more outdoor lighting from the parking lot to the entrance.|Also, instead of the mini toiletry bottles, please install larger refillable bottles on the shower.
