Overall, my experience with the Gray squirrel resort was very positive. Staff was a pretty frickin' awesome. We came in and one of the worst snowstorms and cottage was very cozy. Wood was cheap, and we definitely had a good time. I would recommend it, especially for the price

I can tell you, the place we got is not pictured and probably on purpose. The staff was kind and look tired from probably having to keep up with it all and I feel for them. I also would appreciate them feeling for us as customers too. Every cabin around us was empty 2 of the 3 nights we were booked here and each of those were better quality. A nail came out of the threshold that I stepped on, they charged an extra $25/hr for showing up early because they had to clean but I showed up to a toilet not flushed and food on the floor but still had to pay the expedited cleaning fee. If it were actually cleaned- understood. No other cabins were occupied so it was really just our cabin that had to be tended to. Outlets didn’t work, we had to brew coffee on the restroom sink where we also were asked

I'm really sorry, but I usually don't write reviews, but I think I should let everyone know. We thought we were going to a great place on referrals, but this place turned out to be very bad. The outside grounds are not maintained, the walkways are dangerous because they have divots, uplift, cracks, and people can trip. In the cabins they are dirty, and ours had roaches in the kitchen. The pots and pans were in terrible shape and not even fit to cook in. The bathrooms had cobwebs all in the upper part and the toilet was not cleaned. Underneath the furniture and couch there was nothing cleaned and the floors were not swept. The entire property needs to make over. It's really sad to see a place like this that has so much potential go to hell. I would not ever take my family there again.

Good location, but the rooms could use a GOOD deep cleaning. The floors were pretty yucky upon check in, the bathroom wreaked of old cigarette smoke and the upstairs (of the whispering pines cabin) gets soo toasty if the heater is on. Overall a decent stay if you can get past the dust and gross floors. (Bring your own swiffer wet jet or something) OH and beware.. the heater gets scorching hot to the touch. I'm so glad it was me that got burned and not my toddler! (This cabin was not child-friendly!)

It was nice its on the old rustic side, we stayed in Rustic Rose cabin, no toaster or dish towels. Beds were comfy, its further out on the 18 than I like but it was clean and functional.
