Granlibakken Tahoe

My friends and I stayed at the Granlibakken for a ski trip and we had a wonderful stay! The staff were incredibly accommodating, bringing us pullout beds and getting us seated last minute at the hotel restaurant with a reservation. I'm glad we got seated at the restaurant because it was fantastic- I especially enjoyed the ahi cones and lobster mac and cheese. We also got a delightful bottle of wine for $22! After dinner we ventured to the hot tub and sauna. The hot tub was surprisingly large, it fit our group as well as several other groups without feeling crowded. The Granlibakken is definitely going to see me again!

Calm, Serene, peaceful and relaxing. This was the best winter Christmas that we have ever experienced. The staff were wonderful. You can tell they have their processes in place when everything goes seamlessly. Very accommodating and friendly this made our experience even more fun. It was great to connect with staff on a personal level and their interaction with our children made it all feel family oriented. The Christmas torch light parade was amazing. The kids want to do it again. The Christmas dinner was fantastic and such a fun experience. The sled Hill was the added touch that made the kids overjoyed. The rooms were clean and warm and had that cozy cabin feeling to it. Thank you to the staff for making our experience amazing and thank you for being there with us for Christmas.

We enjoyed many aspects of Granlibakken—great location, fun snow conditions, a charming campy old-lodge vibe, and an excellent breakfast. The lodge suite was spacious and fit our needs well. Our room was older, but very clean. However, the mattresses were a major issue. They felt like very cheap spring mattresses—both beds dipped deeply in the middle and offered almost no support. Any movement caused the entire bed to shake, even something as simple as getting up to use the restroom. After two nights, it was clear this wasn’t a one-off issue. As a stomach sleeper, getting a good night’s sleep was nearly impossible. For the price you pay to stay here, a supportive, denser mattress should be a basic expectation. The lack of sleep really impacted my stay, but thankfully my husband and kids

Positive: We checked in opened the door toOur and turned around and left. ExtremelyOld and outdated, 90 degrees in the room and no AC. Went back to the front desk and checked out. Still waiting to hear from them regarding my $350 refund but nothing but crickets. Negative: ""

We valued the convenience of all of the activities on the property. It was great to be able to walk from our lodging to the snow play area, pool, and lodge/dining so easily. We also really appreciated the kindness of the Cedar House restaurant staff -- they were excellent. ||Max the Front Desk Manager was a great listener and helpful in making sure we were taken care of.
