GrandStay Hotel & Suites Minocqua-Woodruff

We travel for work. So we are always finding the best deals and places to stay. Well google had some strong reviews. However, we were hardly in the room for 2 hours when we finally were ready to lay down and go to sleep when the light gets turned on and there was a cock roach. We were offered another room but obviously cockroaches dont always use the front door. We usually we don't have an issue we check out and are refunded. Well it's been 2 weeks since our stay and we actually called to check on the refund.... Well firstly the lady up front was RUDE on the phone immediately. I was nice and asked for the owner to return my call and left my email so I could have proof as to why we wouldn't be getting a refund because altogether we were told it was because we had a dog that stayed in the ro

Very nice location, close to everything, safe neighborhood, pretty much everything we were looking for. Room is very nice and I will admit that the bed we had was super nice, no shaking no uneven mattress, and the room was easy to maintain a temperature, especially when it is -7 outside! Nice big bathroom ( we were in an accessible room, big enough for someone with the wheelchair), Wi-Fi that never failed to work, and a big dorm size refrigerator that kicks butt! Lots of smiles and greetings from the staff and the cleaning crew...we never knew they were here, you would go do something and come back and find it clean, very impressive! All in all we are the most impressed with this particular Hotel and believe me we have stayed in at least six others in the area and they are not as nice as t

Book the room for a funeral we were attending at lac da Flambeau when I called to book the room was excited about the hot tub and pool person I spoke with. Never said anything about the pool and hot tub not being working so was disappointed when I got there to find out that it was out of service. Then we get to our room room 124 daughter went out to grab her bag. Come back in to find out that the latch mechanism to our door is not working and we have to manually pop it every time we leave the room. Safety concern major. Then there was the breakfast. Things tasted okay. Nothing too special but watch your yogurt. Ours was all expired. Didn't realize until after I had finished eating. Mine. Woke up sick this morning with major stomach pains would not recommend

I got in pretty late at 9pm so I didnt make a big deal of it but its definitely a safety concern, especially if I didnt have the secondary latch mechanism but upon getting to my room 130 I noticed my door was ajar. Turns out my lock/door mechanism was broken or something because my door didn't lock at all. Sketch but I was with my large dog and its Wisconsin so I slept fine. I informed the front desk who were unaware. Room was pretty much fine, you could tell this was an older building that hand been remodeled. Everything seems new for the most part and sheets were clean and fresh. There was fridge and microwave as their should be. Only thing was the TV was older and smaller, it looked out of place mounted on stand setup due to its size. Breakfast was standard continental fair no hot food

The location is close to the Minocqua lake if you’re interested in being near the lake and its atmosphere. It was close to Walmart, Dollar tree, and the grocery store Save more. It is near Los Portales the best Mexican restaurant in Minocqua. It is also near Dan’s fudge which had awesome tasty fudge and the best popcorn place was down the street. As you can see its best quality was only its close proximity to outside venues. I had to stay over the weekend to do business in Park falls and Phillips. The staff as well as the hallway were uninviting. Definitely no greetings with a smile. There was no have a great stay. Every time I would come downstairs and this was within the first 45min of arrival, the staff worker had been outside already twice on a cigarette break. The only good amenity w
