Grand Oak Retreat

Just returned from my first visit to Grand Oak Retreat, I was impressed! Enjoyed my first quilting retreat, it was a wonderful time. Plenty of space to work (each person has a 6 ft table), there were ironing boards and irons, cutting boards, and three quilt design wall areas. The rooms were nice sized and comfortable, each room has a bathroom.The food was excellent and the hosts were so nice. The views are amazing! We had the opportunity to enjoy a rain storm, amazing how the landscape changed. Check out time is early, but after 2.5 full days of quilting I was out of projects:) Hope to be able to attend another retreat at this facility!!

I just returned home from a wonderful quilt retreat here. The facility is great for quilting, the food is excellent, and the hosts are so welcoming. I am looking forward to my next retreat here!

Beautiful place with comfy sleeping and crafting accommodations. Perfect for crafting, fireside on the porch, theater, and good food. Everything you need for a relaxing, productive weekend. In addition to yummy meals served upstairs, there is a small kitchen downstairs convenient to work area. I've been twice and will keep going back. Wonderful!!

This is really a lovely place for crafters and scrapbookers. The views of the Lake are breathtaking.The crafting Room in the basement holds 15 comfortably with each person having their own 6' table. There's a small kitchen for snacks and drinks. The beds are comfortable, though temperature regulation seems to be difficult. The bedroom I was in was too cold for me to sleep comfortably. The meals were delicious, though we could have had bigger portions. There's a large media Room for movie viewing. The entrance off of highway 79 is easy to miss, marked only with a house number on the mailbox. The road to the house is quite steep, but worth the climb when you see the view! Be sure to confirm checkout before you book. We were surprised with a very early checkout on Thursday.

We use this center every year for a group of 12-15 quilters and we love it. My only piece of advice is be aware that checkout is 9a! I wish we could have a later checkout, even if it came with a price. :)
