Grand Canyon Hotel & Suites

The location was great for visiting the Grand Canyon - the entrance to the park was less than 10 minutes away. The continental breakfast was very sparse with very little variety and hardly any options for a dairy-free person (oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, assorted bread, juice, sometimes boiled eggs, limited fruit). The lady who works the breakfast area was lovely and always pleasant to interact with. She deserves all the flowers for making the experience better. The room was spacious but the housekeeping was terrible. We requested housekeeping every day and observed that the sheets were not changed, toilet paper was not replaced, huge sections of the floor were not vacuumed, the bathroom was not cleaned, and the washcloths were not replenished. We were supposed to stay at the Bright Angel Lodge, but they were closed due to a water supply problem in the park, so they helped us with a last minute reservation at Grand Canyon Hotel and Suites. I was impressed with how attractive and well maintained the hotel is. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast included with the stay offers great hot and cold options, and the location is great - just outside the entrance to the park. There are a variety of restaurants right nearby. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

We had a frustrating experience from check-in onward. When we arrived with our confirmation email, we were told to go to the hotel next door. After walking over there, they immediately sent us back because our reservation was clearly at this property. Instead of simply looking up our reservation, we were redirected unnecessarily. Our room was on the first floor near the lobby. There was significant noise from children running and yelling in the lobby until around 10 PM, and it resumed around 6 AM. The walls appear very thin — we could clearly hear conversations and parents telling their kids to be quiet. Fantastic experience. The Continental breakfast in the morning was more than expected, with staff who were happy to bring you pancakes and go the extra mile in any way they could. Comfortable rooms with friendly staff. Special shout out to Renee for helping me plan my trip from Grand Canyon to monument valley and four corners. She was so helpful that when it was time to pick a hotel for the night I came back here. She was happy to know she'd helped me the next morning. Would definitely stay here again if I was back on the south rim, no doubt.

Positive: The people working the breakfast were AMAZING. We joke that it was the best service we have ever had. They were wonderful! Negative: They somehow managed to take a baby blanket during a room cleaning and it seems to be lost forever :-(
