Golconda Lock & Dam Homes

A friend and I stayed in House 3 and couldn’t have enjoyed our short time there more —we had beautiful weather (yeah!) and absolutely savored the screened porch views and especially sunrises over the Ohio River. ||The quiet surroundings were just what we needed —highly recommend.

They last minute accommodated me, same day/night. I had the whole block to myself very peaceful. Wonderful views I love the turn of the century homes, I have a condo from 1920 with character too. When I opened the bedding I found a dead bug in it 😳 its a lake house so I'm not surprised about the bug but I wasn't sure if it was a bedbug. I of course freaked and threw it away instantly without close look. Nothing happened when I got home so I assumed it wasn't but scared the 💩 out of me.

If you're looking for a secluded place to spend a few days and have an easy drive to some of trails around the area this is it! Small cozy homes with a very tranquil setting. Don't expect luxury, but if all you need is a bed and a kitchen while you freshen up from a long hike as you prepare for the next one, then I highly recommend!

I rented one of the one bedroom homes, it was very spacious and clean. Consider bringing your own pillow, though. Loved sitting on the screened in porch watching the sky change and listening to the birds. Great service, quick to respond to my questions.

Daughter, grand-dog and I spent a Wed & Thurs evening in house # 4.||Peaceful during the week. Clean and comfortable. As advertised. Furnished with many antiques (which was fine with me since I love them). Nice sitting on the porch in the evening watching the river roll by. Pretty convenient to the locations we were visiting.||A little stand or something would have been nice-in the bathroom. A little lax on plates and utensils and pots/pans. Just two of us, we got by easily but not sure it would accommodate too many more people.||Needed to get some non-stick spray, but Dollar General is really near-by||Would certainly stay there again. But if I plan on cooking much, I might bring more items.
