Gentleman Johnny's Motel

We just stayed this past week...3 nights. The reason I chose this place was the cheap rate and the good reviews on trip advisor... I can honestly say that i was advised incorrectly... I don't mind outdated and ugly.. but it was dirty... I had to clean the bathroom myself. Thank goodness i brought the Lysol wipes.. dirty toilet seat and sink. Needed good spring cleaning.. I don't think that was done this spring! The owners were very nice people. Breakfast was a bagel and coffee. Was ok for my husband and I.. but would bring little kids here.

Provided a lot more than i was expecting for such a low price! The kitchenette includes a lot which is just what i needed. Bedroom was a little outdated (no triple prong outlets, tiny shower) but for $115 a night- it was everything i wanted and more. Owners/managers were very sweet and accommodating by letting us check in 2 hours early. Great place, even greater price!

There's no denying the price was great (especially including breakfast). Our goal was just to get a good night sleep on our way south, but it wasn't quite a success: the main culprits were the beds, with uncomfortable and squeaky springs that made noise at every movement. In addition the light flows into the room early in the morning (even after attempting to cover some spots with blankets and beach towels). Besides these issues, the room was basic but ok, though not very clean (especially the bathroom). It was good to have breakfast but it's very limited. Let's say we were happy we only stayed one night and didn't spend too much for it!

My family and I went back to Gentleman Johnnys for a second time. We stayed for four nights. We thought that they still had the fire pit so be brought up some snores and marshmellos to roast only to find out they lost their lisence to have it. I was not happy with the cleanliness of this place this time around. All they did was make our bed once or twice. There was a q- tip in the corner of the bathroom that was just left there. The toilet brush was full of toilet paper that they never cleaned. The beds were uncomfortable and the air conditioner made a lot of noise and so did the toilet. We won't be going back. The good thing about this place was the pool although there was a problem getting a towel for it.

Where do I start? Well, with the AC unit- turned it on right away because it was so stuffy, and dust, dirt and hair flew all over the bed and into the air. Turned on the lights and WOW was it filthy- see pics of the grill and the filter- we took it outside, and cleaned the grill ourselves. Started sneezing and had a sore throat all night. The bedspreads were DISGUSTING- see pics- white sticky stains and grease marks or whatever! Even the spare blankets in the closet were stained and gross. Beds are very old and uncomfortable. The carpets are also stained and dirty, did not want to put bare feet down at all. There were ants in the bathroom, black mold in the shower and on the curtain, pubes and pee on the toilet, strands of hair all over, in the shower, in the corners, even stuck t
