Gateway Inn

Seemed liked the Gateway Inn was abandoned when we got there. Both side parking lots were empty. Our neighbor told us a room was $70 per night but we were charged $90 which is steep for what we got, an old run down room. Early in the morning the Manager's wife let herself into our room without notice. It scared my girlfriend so bad that she ran out of the room screaming and was of course banned for life. The next night I left the windows of my car open by mistake and was robbed of my two Android work phones with three new contracts on it. I found one of them at the Motel down the street which has no locks on the doors. When I voiced my disgust to the manager he produced a video to our neighbor of my girlfriend running around the Motel screaming. Why he didn't show the video to me I

Room was very clean and staff was friendly. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re traveling through.

Stayed here in March of 2017, understand it is new owners. Room was clean, few minor details overlooked. Only one other room had tenants, so very quiet. It was built in the early 70's from the looks, but well taken care of. Found coupon at one of rest stops for $39.95, well worth it. Breakfast consists of coffee and pastry, but at that price can stop somewhere else. If you just want a place to stay for lost cost, would suggest this. Was going to stop in Redding, found this place, good choice. Even had high speed Wi-Fi, no extra charge.

We just stayed here for the night while passing through. About what you'd expect from a cheap hotel. The front clerk was very friendly and nice. The hotel itself is older and a bit rundown, but maintained. Our room had a microwave and a fridge which was handy. The rooms themselves are nice, plenty of room for clothes and storage; normal wear and tear. The bathroom does not have a tub, so for the itty bitty ones it's hard to bathe them. Breakfast is included, but only prepackaged pasties and coffee. The pool looked to be maintained, didn't use it; but was cleaned. The ice machine had bugs in the ice so didn't use it. The neighborhood is on the outskirts of the main town and seemed a bit rundown as well. Heard a train blowing it's horn for about 5 minutes around 10:30 pm and sirens seemed to
