Gaslamp Hostel San Diego

For what I paid, I had a great stay overall and would definitely visit again in the future. The place is clean, has a nice kitchen if you need to use it, and I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting San Diego thanks to its perfect downtown location and close proximity to public transportation and airport. The staff were also very nice, friendly, and accommodating. There was only one minor instance where a staff member asked to see my hostel card to verify my identity when I returned at night, despite having spoken with her earlier same day morning. I understand she was just doing her job, but it did feel a bit off to me.

Great hostel! Staff were really friendly. Kitchen with everything you might need and light breakfast included in the stay. Great central location, although as others have said it's noisy at night, so I recommend earplugs.

The hostel was very welcoming and inviting right when we walked in and the staff let us leave our bags in storage even though we arrived well before check in. It’s also in a great, walkable location but still offers free overnight street parking. The private room was clean & cozy and the bathrooms were really clean as well. Overall great time.

I stayed at Gaslamp Hostel in San Diego from September 1st to September 15th, and it was honestly the best hostel experience I’ve ever had. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, with easy walking access to the USS Midway and plenty of other great attractions, restaurants, and nightlife spots. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with recommendations or just share a smile. The facilities were spotless and well-maintained throughout my two-week stay, which made it feel comfortable and worry-free. If you’re looking for a clean, social, and perfectly located place to stay in San Diego, I can’t recommend Gaslamp Hostel enough. This is easily the top choice for anyone wanting a fun and hassle-free experience in the city.
