Galusha's Cottages

If you like rustic cottage lodging this is definitely a good place to stay. The owner is really nice and easy to work with. There are different cabins to choose from too from against the lake to setback ones. The one I stayed in was against the water. I definitely recommend a late fall stay or anytime where the bugs aren't as active cause you will get eaten like hell by them no matter how much bug spray you use. The cabin had spiders throughout it so also do a sweep through before your first night. We did have some cosmetic issues with the flooring and leaking in the bathroom during a lot of rain. Some screens had issues so bugs got in still. This is only one of the cottages though so the others were probably not like this one. Other than that being against the lake made it easy to enjoy

DO NOT BOOK THESE COTTAGES!! They are run down, and falling apart. The floor is sinking in, and unleveled. This cottage felt like a scene out of a horror movie. There are no locks on the door, and no locks on the windows. When asked where they are, we were informed there werent any on any of the cottages. The smell as soon as you walk in, is so horrible. Owner tried opening the windows before we got there to try and hide the smell but it was so potent of cigarettes, mixed with mold/mildew. These cottages do not look like what they do on the website. It is so misleading, and should be updated. It was such a horrible experience, and especially did not feel safe.

Nice, clean rustic cabins. Million dollar views of the mountains. Peaceful and quiet. No tvs, no internet. Perfect for close family time, catching up on your reading. Beach and swimming area. Gorgeous lake. Lots of close hiking and waterfalls.

My family had a great time here enjoying the outdoors and getting some family bonding time away from the electronics. It was nice to unwind off of the grid. We spent time swimming in the lake, searching for clams and fishing. There was many local shops in indian lake and speculator that had tons of cool things to look at and purchase for kids and adults. Will be returning next year for a couple weeks. Thank you Jackie for a great time and a such a great welcome from you and your beautiful dog 💜

This is the best place in the ADK to rent a cottage on the lake. I've been coming here for the past 5 years and my girlfriend for the past 17 years. This is one of my favorite places to stay. Good swimming, great fishing, full kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove and oven, full bathroom and shower, and a spot for campfires. What more could you ask for! Jackie and her family are great. For a camping experience with the home amenities, give this place a try. You'll love it.
