Frio Country Resort

This was our second time visiting Frio Country Resort over Memorial Day weekend. We were with 5 other families. This is a very casual, laid-back place. Don't expect the luxuries of a 5 star resort, but they definitely have everything needed for a super fun relaxing weekend. When you're at the Frio, its about shorts, flip flops, good music, and friends. Think floating the Frio, corn hole tournaments, family card games, story telling until late in the night, fireflies, and lots of laughter. We don't spend much time inside the cabins while we're here, its all about enjoying the outside. We did have an issue with our AC not cooling one night. We called the answering service and the maintenance guys showed up in 5 minutes to fix the issue. They couldn't get the AC working that night, s

Spent the weekend with a group of hunters, big club of about 240 people. Great accommodations, clean and comfortable rooms. Very close to the Frio, off peak season so nobody was there but our group. October and we still sat in the River, minimal flow but very refreshing in the Texas Heat.

Went to Frio Country Resort to meet up with family that had entered into a Cook Off Compatition. Plenty of room for the kids to run around and ride there bikes. The river was beautiful with space to accommodate all the folks in attendance. We have already made plans to come back next month.

Great experience, but the shuttle driver had accidentally misplaced our float ice chest which caused it to pop inside their trailer. After complaining he did offer us one of theirs to use but did not do anything else to help replace or discount our experience. Other than that we had a great time 💞

Stayed in cabin beach 2, lovely view of the river. Nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend going during the week in the fall.
