Double L River House

The perfect getaway for families and groups! Double L River House was absolutely amazing for our big family trip! The backyard is incredible — a beautiful pool (can be heated), oversized outdoor fireplace where we made s’mores, tons of covered seating, and even beer pong and ping pong tables. It’s the ideal setup for relaxing and making memories together. We rented golf carts to explore the community and haul our things to the Frio River, which is just a short walk away and perfect for setting up and floating. Inside, the kitchen is huge with two fridges and two ovens/stoves, and the room layouts work great for multiple families. The location is unbeatable — a quick drive to hike Old Baldy, enjoy the Saturday night dances at Garner State Park, float at Neal’s, and grab pizza and listen

My extended family and I recently stayed at the Double L River House, and we are already planning our next trip back! The layout is perfect for a large group: 7 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, and plenty of space to spread out but also congregate. The kitchen and dining area are extremely well-equipped for cooking big meals together. Outdoors is where the magic really happens: private pool, volleyball net, outdoor fireplace, etc. So many places to hang out, whether relaxing or playing. The house is just a short walk to the Frio River. We loved being close enough to dip our toes in the water but far enough that the house felt like its own private retreat. Love coming to the Double L River house! Great location, surrounded by cute little places to eat like the Hippie Chicks (great pizza!). Very roomy house with plenty of rooms, always clean upon arrival, heated pool, fire place; it’s perfect. This house is perfect.

Great home in a wonderful family location along the Frio River with stunning views of Cat Claw Mountain from the outdoor patio/swimming pool. Our family stayed here this past weekend and enjoyed floating, swimming from rope swings, and jumping from rocks into the river. The house is half way between Magers Crossing and Neal’s Lodge which made for a decent float, 3 hours. Also, if you want a shorter float, 1 hour and great for younger kiddos, you can float between the river parks within Heartstone. The home was amazing with plenty of cooking space inside and out to accommodate the size of our group. The volleyball and tetherball courts and golf cart rental were a nice touch for the kiddos.
