Friendship Lodge

Stayed here for 1 night to see a show. We chose this place because of the proximity to Pisgah Brewing Co & very reasonable rates. It's an old home w/vintage decor, like staying at grandma's house. Bob & Sara were very friendly & welcoming. The room was clean & the beds comfortable. The passing trains did wake us up a couple times during the night, but from talking to other guests it must only be certain rooms where that's an issue. Probably would've slept better but got to bed really late & had to leave fairly early. Breakfast was good & met some great people at our table. We would definitely stay here again, but probably bring earplugs or request a different room. You can't beat the price & location.

If you are looking for a posh B&B this place is not for you. If you are looking for a clean bed, hot shower, and yummy breakfast -- definitely worth the stay. Bob and Sara are gracious hosts. The lodge is located 2 miles outside of Black Mountain. Don't let the exterior fool you. Yes, it's dated, but the inside is like stepping back in time. Bob is quite the musician with a wonderful collection of vinyl, and Sara has a great collection of Betty Boop. Breakfast is cooked to order and features eggs, meat, hashbrowns, biscuits and fresh fruit. Great place to crash if you are going to Pisgah Brewing Company too. The lodge is a short drive to Black Mountain, and for the price, beats the other lodging in the town. We will definitely return!

Sara and Bob are sincere, gracious, and friendly hosts. Our party of 3 arrived hungry after a long day of driving and they found us something to eat right away. My husband enjoyed playing Bob's guitars. ||This seasonal B & B is clean, but tired and outdated. There was no shampoo provided and the bath towels were small and thin (I would have retired them to a "rag bag"). Since sleeping room keys are not provided, we loaded up our suitcase and personal care products every morning, took them with us and put them in our cars.||If just a little time was taken to complete things like painting and small repairs, this B & B could get better ratings.||I didn't really mind the train and the highway sounds (like 'white noise')....

Came here for a night with hubby. We didn't have very high expectations coming here and was still dumbfounded by the state of the rooms and decor. Our bed tilted to the sides and was two twins put together to make a king. Hence the crack in the middle. House decor jumps out at u as grandma garage sale throwbacks. Although sheets were clean and smelled like fresh laundry, the bed covers should of been thrown away yrs ago. Very dusty, only cool thing was the sweet 8 track player in room. Should of skipped breakfast but the people r friendly which was a plus. But I think its time to retire the decor. Musty no a/c anywhere in house and no ceiling fans. Only box fan in ur bedroom window.

We recently got to stay for five nights with Bob and Sarah. They are fantastic hosts and wonderful people who I catch myself missing and thinking about even now almost a month later. The Inn is clean and well located. Sarah and Bob both continue to run the Inn because they can and they want to. They seem to sincerely love providing an affordable opportunity for folks to visit friends or family or enjoy the blue ridge mountains.
