Fountain View Motel

Great and friendly staff. Dated, but that’s a part of the atmosphere. Great view of fountain, the name wasn’t kidding! Just had some issues with the room itself for the price I paid. Tough bed, lots of dust and cob webs in corners, and the fridge kept turning on to cool and it woke me up every time - very loud and a horrible nights sleep for a sensitive sleeper. However, the bathrooms were prepped and clean and it was lovely to see cats walking around outside!

Rural old motel in very small town. It was at the end of my route for business at 2 am. Not alot of options. I had prebooked. The staff was friendly and left the light on and door unlocked for my room. Yes it's economical $67. That being said. Not a dime has been put back into this motel since the 1960's by the looks of it. Not even kidding. Red old carpet wear socks, wood plank walls, advice don't touch the nasty dirty phones. The old dirty, some in need of repairs chairs outside all the rooms. That's not quaint that's old and unmaintained. The biggest issue. The mattresses are miserable and they should have been replaced. Your selling a bed. Have a good one. Not those cheap antique ones you have. Look at the labels there old. I thought the cars in park lot were other guests when we arriv

You get what you pay for. It is dated, desperately needs updating. Beds are hard as a rock, bedding is old. Refrigerator in the room does not work. ||The room smells like must and mildew. ||They clean. Due to the old worn look of everything and broken tiles in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, along with the smell it does not feel clean though. ||If you just want a place to crash and are able to sleep anywhere it’s a gem. ||The property itself is nice, quiet. Could be super cute with some updates.

The Motel is very affordable but you get what you pay for. We stayed one night and I would recommend that's all you stay for. The room we had overlooks the fountain across the street at the Municipal Water facility. The room itself was extremely dated and needed a thorough overhaul. It came across as more of a cabin feel inside the room and had even a musty smell. Even though it was chilly out we opened the window to get fresh air. The bathroom had what appeared to be black mold around the tub and the ceilings had water spots in both rooms. The electric heat baseboards were very rusty. The bed was comfortable . I brought my own blankets and removed the spread. I will say thst the room was very clean.

My son and I went to Cooperstown for a weekend and stayed here. I guess the good things I can say about it are these: rates are inexpensive, location is OK (at the end of a town with a couple of restaurants about a 20 minute trip to Cooperstown), relatively clean. On the downside, the furniture, technology and plumbing are all very dated, the matresses were hard as a rock, and the hot water in the shower was very much a hit and miss affair. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your motel and just need a place to crash (not terribly comfortably), this is fine, but otherwise, you might want to spend a little more on a nicer place.
