Flamingo Motel

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – A Hidden Gem on Lake Okeechobee! I had an amazing stay at The Flamingo Motel! The rooms were spotless, cozy, and full of that classic Florida charm. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and comfortable from the moment I arrived. Everything was super clean, the beds were comfy, and the air conditioning worked great — perfect after a hot day by the lake. The motel is in a great location, close to boat ramps and restaurants but still quiet and peaceful. It’s the perfect spot to relax, fish, or just enjoy the scenery. You can really tell care and pride go into keeping this place in top shape. If you’re staying near Lake Okeechobee, definitely give The Flamingo Motel a try — you won’t be disappointed!

Went down there for three days and two nights for a two day tournament. The folks in the front office were super nice and very helpful. The accommodations were clean, and well, not necessarily the fanciest, they met my needs very well. Parking situation was great as there was, ample room for my boat and truck as well as power for my battery charger. They have lots of cameras in the parking lot and are proactive and making sure your stuff stay safe. I had no problems whatsoever.||Would not hesitate to book again when I head down for another tournament.

Debbie at the front desk is an absolute gem. As backpackers on the Florida Trail she let us check in early so we had a place to put our backpacks and get a shower before going into town for resupply. She is also a local with a wealth of information for travelers. Our rooms were recently updated very clean. Awesome shower with lots of pressure and hot water. I highly recommend this place for all backpackers and travelers..

Facility is old, but rooms were clean & comfortable, and bathrooms renovated and nice. No coffee in the rooms. No complimentary breakfast.

My mother and her boyfriend traveled from North Carolina to visit me. Upon arrival, the front desk attendant refused to provide my mother with a room, stating that there was an additional person hiding in the backseat of their vehicle. This was incorrect; only my mother and her boyfriend were present. My mother parked in front of the office and offered for the attendant to verify the vehicle, but the employee declined and continued to insist there was an extra person and that an additional charge was required. This situation was handled unprofessionally and caused unnecessary stress for my family. The incident occurred on December 24, 2025, in the afternoon. Due to this experience, I am leaving a negative review.
