Fairfield Inn East Rutherford Meadowlands

I’ve stayed at over 300 Marriotts and it’s rare I leave a review unless it was a really meaningful experience. The reason for the review is really about the service I experienced from Denzel and Leo. They were both so kind, attentive and pleasant. Breakfast ended too early for me (9am) so I missed it, but it does exist. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. WiFi was a bit patchy at times but mostly strong and my HDMI cable didn’t work with the TV (I didn’t make these complaints -but just wanted them to be noted). Location is good as well—there’s a cute coffee shop 14 min walk away called the red kettle and from there you can easily walk to East Rutherford for great restaurants, if you don’t have a car. The FairField Inn by Marriott was recommended by Nanina’s in the park venue for our wedding families to stay 2/28/26. The hotel cleanliness, comfort, the convenience of a breakfast buffet & location to and from the airport was good. Also the option to hire there modern 40 passenger shuttle bus transportation to & from the wedding venue was excellent. Thank you to the hotel manager Joani with the wedding website set up, shuttle set up & making sure our guests were treated well when they arrived. Paul

I'm a Bonvoy Platinum member and stay at all the Marriott brands: Fairfield Inn, Courtyard, Ritz, le Meridien ... all of them. And that's because there is a consistency to the Bonvoy brand - you can count on a friendly, honest, clean, safe bed. ||||I didn't find that here. Marriott should withdraw from agreement for this property to carry the Fairfield Inn flag. It is below par - feels like a cheap and grungy motel.||||1) hallways dank, dark and there were multiple instances of trash in the long hallway to my room.||||2) carpets are threadbare and need replacing.||||3) I'm a single woman, accustomed to much business travel, and rarely feel unsafe. I really would have liked to have rated them better because the employees are nice, the location is convenient, the complimentary breakfast was definitely a nice amenity, and despite its outdated design it’s a decent spot. Unfortunately, I have to rate two stars because they seriously need to do a better job at cleaning the rooms. Upon entry the room appeared clean, and there was not a foul odor in our room. It was actually quite the opposite, the air was fresh. However, on closer look, you could see right away that it’s just not well cleaned. The mirror in the bathroom was in desperate need of windex. The walls in the bathroom had multiple small stains/blemishes that could probably be easily rid of or at the very least improved with a little elbow grease. The water in the shower and sink
