Fairfield by Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square

Great place for price. Good location, not far from the action. The rooms and bathrooms were perfect size and had everything. I’d recommend this place for young people who don’t want to spend too much. The breakfast had pretty much all of the basics, though they were not that good. For 2 days straight we did not have room cleaning and towel change, until we asked for it on day 3, but it’s not that big of a deal. The people at the reception were very nice.

The hotel staff were all incredibly kind and hospitable! They really made our stay above the best! Malik went above and beyond with helping us when we ran into some travel issues with heading back home and with a family that kindness was so appreciated! We went from having the worst day in NYC to completely turning around our trip! The front desk staff were incredibly helpful with giving us options to get to the airport as well as very clear directions! They were all amazing!

Positive: I would say the location is the best part of this hotel. A few minutes walk from Times Square, the theaters, Rockefeller Center and still being away from the main hustle and bustle of the main areas so that sleep is not interrupted. Negative: Being on the side street, it was harder to hail a cab. You had to walk to one of the main streets to catch one.

CONS: - After checking in, we left our luggage in the room and went sightseeing. When we returned around 6 PM, we realized that the room did not have the city view described in the booking confirmation (photo attached). I went to reception and politely asked if it would be possible to move to a room with the view that had been advertised. I spoke with a female staff member at the reception desk, who informed me that we had received a “free early check-in” and that the room category we booked was not necessarily meant to include a view — although the booking description clearly mentioned it. The photos displayed on Booking clearly show skyline views with visible skyscrapers. What disappointed me most was that the early check-in was never presented as a trade-off. I booked this for my wife and daughter to celebrate her birthday. They upgraded them to a city view and brought treats to the room to make her stay feel extra special. I had to book two separate reservations, and the staff combined them for a seamless experience. They enjoyed the breakfast and my daughter said it was one of the most comfortable beds she has slept in. Times Square location was great for them to walk around to take in some sights. They packed in two Broadway shows, the Statue of Liberty, Summit One, Central Park, and Times Square in a few night stay. Thanks for helping form a lifelong memory for the two of them!
