Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Rawlins

Staff was professional, location is fine (quiet). Our room was not. Several complaints about the room. First, the less severe ones: 1. Shower wall had some leftover long hairs stuck to it. Yuck. 2. The internet TV option (Netflix, YouTube) doesn’t work even though it’s an available option to select (confirmed with the front desk it does not work). Why have it then? 3. The thermostat in the room is just decoration, and there’s a dusty wall-mounted unit that’s for heating/AC. Very LOUD. Not great. The MAJOR issue. We’re staying here on a particularly cold and windy night. Upon entering our room after checking in, the room was a bit chilly. My husband and I stayed at the Fairfield in Rawlins Wy on October 4th. We are Gold level Marriott members and always have great experiences at Fairfield hotels, until then. Upon check in (at 5pm) the clerk at the desk was unfriendly from the start. When we got into our room we realized that the television didn't work, we called the front desk and was told "ya it is an ongoing problem" we asked if someone could come up and fix it, he said that wasn't possible, so we ask for another room, again was told that would not be possible. We asked to be refunded our money and we would go somewhere else and was told that he didn't have authority to do that and his manager was out of town. It was comestically a nice hotel.  But booked the hotel for reason using the hottub.  It was down.  So was disappointed.  We had a malfunction in the heating system in our room.   it would cut in the fan every 10 minutes all night.  Left the hotel tired for our long drive today. We paid a little more than usual and was not impressed.

Our stop was convenient for a night, while traveling to Colorado! The room was clean, stocked with plenty of towels. I have 4 stars because TV did not work (Assistant Manager informed us that they were in the process of updating TVs or something and pool was not available (sign posted said due to chemical imbalance). Indoor pools are highly appreciated especially in the fall when weather is cooler. It would have been nice to visit pool.

The hotel is right next to the train tracks. So if your room is towards the back of the hotel it can be loud. The rooms are clean but a little small. With just me and my 2 bags the rooms felt a bit cramped but had a spacious bathroom.
