Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Paramus

The room was clean and thank God, the sheets were cotton! Please please never use microfiber. The bathroom needed some TLC. The wallpaper was peeling in some places, the room had only been stocked with one towel for two guests(should've had at least 4), and the shower head was leaking like crazy. You couldn't change the spray functions without accidentally unscrewing the entire head mechanism and getting water everywhere. The trash cans were also super tiny. Breakfast was as you'd expect, no bagels which was a disappointment. The "lemon water" set up outside the breakfast area tasted like pond sludge, was warm and bitter, and the lemons inside were going brown and sludgy. As you can see from my last review earlier this year I stayed here earlier this year with four rooms for my family. We all enjoyed our stay here last time, therefore I reserved another four rooms for my family again since we had to attend another family affair in the area later this year. I used my Marriott Bonvoy hotel points to book all four king bedrooms for Saturday through Monday for a two night weekend. Each of the four hotel rooms cost me 49k points each or 196k points for four rooms for two weekend nights. Our Saturday check-ins and Monday morning check-outs went smoothly.I had not problem using my points. The parking lot was busy when we arrived on Saturday, but had less vehicles on Sunday evening. The room is really basic- not renovated like many other Marriott hotels in this price tier. They did some newer countops for the bathroom vanity but it was done with awkward sharp angles and keep hitting my arms. The food, especially the breakfast, was HORRENDOUS. I’ve never tasted worse breakfast anywhere, ever. I had to fish the scrambled eggs out of a puddle of water, the sausages tasted like cardboards grilled in stale lard, and even the bagels tasted a little bitter- probably also stale. Who was cooking that breakfast?? Even if you pick a random guest to cook it, it might have turn out to be better…at least a guest will know not to serve it….with all that said, the location of the hotel is good….

Good hotel overall but certain things in the room are not properly maintained or working: show water pressure extremely low, shower water converter device old and stuck, room door can't properly close... Day time staff very nice and helpful. Lobby nice and cozy.

We used this hotel for my daughter and son-in-laws wedding on New Years Eve. The attention to detail from that first call with Lori the General Manager was beyond exceptional. She handled everything from the first hotel block to the second. Her recommendation for the shuttle service was top notch. They accommodated all of us with ease especially the space they provided for the after party. If you need a place to stay I would recommend this hands down.
