Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Marshall

This hotel needs some maintenance. The drapes and sheers in our room were filthy. The shower curtain smelled like it was mildewed. I did not like the sheets and pillowcases. They were not as white and crisp as I am used to having at Fairfield Inns. The waffle irons are old and the coating is beginning to flake. The waffle dispenser was broken, so they put a pitcher in its place and the mixture was too liquidy. The spout on at least one of the cream pitchers was chipped. A tile in the elevator was broken and a piece was missing. ||The people were friendly and the parking was good, perhaps because there were not many people staying when we were there. It is in a good location, next to the interstate and not far from Lake Caddo State Park.

The cleanliness of this hotel is far below Marriott’s brand standards. I strongly encourage Marriott to investigate this property. It is being run unethically, unsanitarily, and unsafely. This morning, while getting coffee, I noticed a sour smell coming from the half and half. When I opened the container where the half-and-half was stored, the inside looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. It smelled sour, and there was visible curdling and buildup on the walls of the vessel. Absolutely horrendous and completely unacceptable. Not to mention, the cleanliness of my room made me feel like I was staying in a rundown frat house. The couch was disgustingly stained and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The rooms were clean, though I do not understand that we reserved a room for 2 people for 2 nights yet we only get 3 towels. The breakfast could have been better. Very little choice and ran out of coffee and waffle mix. Also, did not have water.

Don’t ever, ever stay at the Fairfield inn, at least not in Marshall, Tx. First room, the toilet didn’t fill, or it would have taken so long we’d have had to stay two days, the toilet paper holder was half hanging off the wall, the light over the sink didn’t work (that was minor, but added to the joy). We got a different room, and we stayed, but the toilet ran periodically at night, the curtains didn’t quite close so some light was coming through from the street, and when I went to try to close them better, they were worn, and actually had a small hole. The bed was lumpy and saggy, and I don’t know what was wrong with the outlet by the desk, but when I tried to plug in my phone charger it just fell back out. There were a couple other minor things, like bad patchwork on the wall. Based on
