Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Lubbock

I want to start by saying this has been a very disappointing experience, especially for a Marriott property. The hotel itself is dated, which I can accept, but the lack of basic housekeeping and follow-through is not acceptable. After my second day, I requested room service. I do not expect daily service, but having the room vacuumed and towels replaced every couple of days is a very reasonable expectation, especially during an extended work stay. I was told multiple times that I had been added to the housekeeping list. Each night I asked, and each night I was told the same thing. Now on the sixth day, I am still having to request towels myself and the room has not been properly serviced. This should be the bare minimum standard. My wife and I recently stayed here at the Fairfield on Milwaukee ave. Wow!!! I’ve stayed at La Quinta motels that were much cleaner and better than this place. |Staff at the front desk has no pep in their step, and doesn’t look and act professional. |We showed up at 430pm and our room still wasn’t ready. |It seemed like they must have cleaned our room in 5 min. |Urine spots all over the toilet and we found hair around the sink. |The bed sheets seemed to have blood stains. Wow!!|I’m a huge Marriott fan, but this hotel left was definitely a rip off and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Absolutely one of the most disgusting hotels my family has ever stayed in. We have stayed in cleaner, better maintained motel 6. Rooms 207 and 209 looked and smelled worse than most truck stops. It appears clean, smells like heavy chemical cleaners, but as you notice details, it gets worse and worse. “It could do with an update” is a gross understatement. The entire hotel smells of smokers - and we discovered why: the housekeeping staffers were smoking right outside the front entrance. Also, on a one night stay, we were greeted by housekeeping barging in at 9am after we verbally said we were in the room and bathroom. Great experience with the staff and the property was very clean and accommodating. Appeared to have been remodeled recently and the room was very nice. The tub drained a little slow, but otherwise we were completely happy with our stay. The complimentary breakfast had good options and was good, with great coffee! Staff was helpful when I called ahead about some issues with a third party booking website. She assured me I would received the correct room, which was great because I was on the road heading to town when I booked it. It’s a great location too, so I’d definitely recommend this property to others!

As other reviews shared, the hotel is dated and could use updating, but we still found it clean and relatively comfortable for a one-night stay. The carpet in our double-queen room was torn at the entry and the A/C never cooled the room down to the point we'd prefer to sleep, but the beds and bathroom were all clean. A hot breakfast buffet wasn't available the next morning, other than the waffle maker, so we only had access to the usual continental selections. We found the staff pleasant and friendly.
