Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Bismarck North

The Good--- friendly front desk staff, nice lobby, decent location in regards to dinning and some entertainment. The Bad-- all of this is my experience at the time of visit....One of the reasons I stayed here was for the indoor pool and Jacuzzi, which was closed, maybe being renovated....I don't know...Then the first room I got, the ac/heater was making noice like a car needed some belt dressing. But the front desk staff was nice and gave me a new room. This room, the toilet didn't flush unless I took the top off and pull the chain. So all in all, the location and staff were great, rooms, not so much.

I would have rated this hotel a 5 because the location is nice. And the room is very clean, which is very important to me. However, the front desk staff was lacking so much that it cancelled out the good things. First, I stood there for about 15 minutes before the woman to finally came back to the front desk to check me in. Then she ran my card, for what I assumed was incidentals. But when I checked my card later I realized she charged another $170, even though the room had been paid for in full. When I called that evening to ask about it, again I waited forever, with the same woman continually putting me on hold. Then when she finally did answer, she was rude and wouldn’t tell me why I had been charged again. Will have to dispute with my credit card company. So, either the hotel is traini

Positive: Staff and breakfast options Negative: Property needs some updating. Tile is cracked in the entryway, room window screen is ripped and AC/heater cover was loose and not attached. For the money Fairfield Inn is charging, this property should be in better

1st, my mistake for not checking my reservation. I thought I had 2 nights instead of one. When they alerted me I quickly returned I asked for another room and they were sold out. As I turned in my keys, they said, “I hope you enjoyed your stay”… My response was simple, why haven’t you or didn’t you offer to assist me to find a new hotel?? The response was It’s not our job to find something for you. WHAT… the clerk from the day before to checked me in was there in street clothes… I asked him why she wouldn’t help… he became both belligerent and aggressive and followed me to my car angry that I would even dare to expect assistance… yes aggressive. Easy to recognize… missing several front teeth. The hotel? A “C” at best. Shower had mold and vent in the bathroom full of lint, mold, etc

The pool is nonfunctional, and looks like it has been for a while. We were traveling with kids and hoped to blow off some energy, but could not. The room's refrigerator did not work, and the breakfast bar did not have any orange juice option. For a quick trip to Bismarck, it was OK. Not up to what I would exoect drom a Marriott hotel, though. Front desk service was friendly.
