Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Bakersfield Central

I stayed at this hotel on February 15-16, and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The room was not clean at all, there were multiple cockroaches crawling around, including near the bed and also fly’s throughout the room. This is a serious health concern and completely unacceptable for any hotel. I spoke directly with the general manager about the issue, and they refused to offer any kind of refund or compensation. The only solution they gave was to move us to another room. At that point, we felt extremely uncomfortable and paranoid that the same problem would happen again, but we had no other place to stay. No guest should be put in a situation like that. Between the lack of cleanliness and the poor response from management, I would not recommend staying here at all.

Not what it used to be to be! It’s old, dirty, unkept, the breakfast was horrible, coffee was even worse if that’s possible. There was a bug in our room living his best life, early check in, so I know they were supposed to have just cleaned, THERES NO HOT WATER BY 6:30 am so don’t try to shower before your event. The elevator is what nightmares are made of. No updates in the last 10-15 years I can see. Just an old dirty falling apart hotel. There’s new ones ! We will be finding those from now on especially for the price we paid this week!

Beautiful hotel,super clean,and quiet. The breakfast room was kept extremely clean and stocked. Coffee kept fresh and hot. We will be back

Very friendly staff, but the mattresses were uncomfortable, the wall AC unit made horribly loud noises/blew air in my family's faces even on the low fan setting, the shower didn't drain, the shower handle was practically coming off the wall/was difficult to maneuver, and the TV remote didn't work properly. I highly doubt I'll be staying here ever again. The main positive feature was the proximity to the freeway.
