Extended Stay America Suites- San Jose - Sunnyvale

First off, the staff were amazing and room seemed clean enough. This is one of the most affordable hotels and has an included "breakfast". The location is great, near lots of businesses in silicon valley. Not many restaurants you can walk to. ||The negative first is the breakfast. When I'm on work travel a free breakfast let's me get a nicer lunch and dinner with my allowed budget. The breakfast is just coffee, hot water, oatmeal packets, packaged muffins, and nutrigrain bars. Not really filling or good for a family. No place to sit either, served on a small table in the lobby, you walk in and walk out. ||There were a number of shady people hanging out in the parking lot and I'm fairly sure some drugs being exchanged. The rooms are incredibly dirty. I moved from my first room to the second because there were some dead ants on the bedsheet, the second room had peeling paint, broken furniture and everything felt dirty and smelled off. Bug walked through the restroom and the water to the toilet was shut off (I could turn it in luckily, but … nobody had tested flushing the toilet during cleaning?). This was the first time I was worried coming back from a hotel concerned that I had brought some insect infestation back home. Location is convenient to many company offices, but it’s not worth it. The front desk attendant was friendly - not her fault that the hotel has seen no maintenance at all.

Positive: The staff. Hotel employee was great and cared! Too bad he works for Extended Stay America who does not. Negative: Contrary to Extended Stay marketing, kitchen pictured is NOT "stocked".Go to Residence inn for this, as will I.No coffee pot, kitchen tools, etc without a request/visit to the office.There were roaches/ants.CJ moved me to another that NOW has ants.

My room was really bad - probably the worst I have stayed at. I didn't take any pictures but believe the pictures from the other reviews. I had to go to public washrooms because the toilet was disgusting, and there are also bugs flying. In addition it has very unpleasant smell - I bought both spray and plugin air refreshers and none of them worked. I initially planed to stay for weeks but had to cancel it because the room's condition. The location is great, staff are friendly, price is good, despite some reviews mentioning overbooking I didn't experience that - they kept my room while all the other ones are taken, and the cancellation was straightforward so I have two stars instead of one. The room is really bad. Only live here if you can put up with that.

This place used to be half way decent but it has declined tremendously. I decided to end my reservation early after they failed to keep their word for the 5th time (no exaggeration). There’s no consistent cleaning schedule. I went up to three weeks without getting new sheets and towels. It got to the point where I would just wash my own using the washers on the property. And it was rather ironic that when I did wash them that’s when they came to clean the room. I would ask for new towels and be told that they would bring them to me and they never would. I would ask when my room is being cleaned and would say “this weekend” just for nobody to come. The last straw was being told that my room was scheduled to be cleaned Saturday. I made it a point to stay gone the entire day so that they can
