Extended Stay America Suites- Chicago - Midway

I needed housing in an emergency while my home had repairs and extended Stay was my saving grace. I was having a HELL of a day, but Ashley at the front desk was warm, gracious, and understanding and it made a difficult time much easier. The entire staff has met beyond expectations. The hotel itself is in a prime location. With coffee out at 6 on the dot each morning, a full kitchen, laundry room, fresh towels when I need them, and planet fitness a block away, I was able to keep my diet and fitness routine just like at home. Which for me means keeping my sanity lol. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing a hassle free and cozy place to stay.

Convenient and mostly inexpensive. Staff very helpful. Has a large size refrigerator, microwave, TV making it suitable for an extended stay as it's name suggets. Looks old and rundown in some areas. There's also an odd odor from the rooms which you get used to but it's quite pungent upon entry to the room. House keeping services 2/3 times a month which is not frequent enough in my opinion. Overall it's an inexpensive lodging but you get what you pay for in terms of quality. Update: their customer service and front desk is severely lacking. Simple request for housekeeping when you have been staying for over a week can't be honored just because. But you are told you can come get bedding and do it yourself. Not staying here again. We arrived a little later than expected and we were still able to check-in, which was great. Once we started walking to our hotel room that's when the issues arrived. The floor was very dirty, a lot of spots where the carpet was worn was bad, and the hallway had a smell. I thought that was the worst of it. We got to our room, and it was still dirty. The sink had all kind of stains on it; there was garbage on the floor and items underneath the bed. The next day while walking down the hallway I asked the housekeeper could we have clean towels, she mentioned we need to take the dirty towels downstairs like some kind of inventory control we should not be a part of as a customer. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE IF YOU ARE TOURING OR FROM OUT OF TOWN ! I’m from out of town and booked this Extended Stay thinking it would be decent based on the photos, but it was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The first thing to note is as a tourist or traveler, you are almost an hour away from everything there is to do . I knew that before booking is still booked because I figured it would be worth it in the long run but when I walked in, the floors didn’t look like they had been swept, mopped, or vacuumed in a long time. It gave more of an apartment complex than it did a hotel seem like a lot of people were just living out of that hotel more so than visiting. Our stay was fine, the room was very clean. The lady that was at the front desk when we checked in and who we saw everyday and communicated with was extremely nice and helpful. The room looked very old and well worn. It definitely is in need of a remodel. Thank you
