Extended Stay America Select Suites- Melbourne - West Melbourne

The rooms have been renovated and are quite nice. Bed was comfortable. Room very clean. There is a sign in the room saying there have comfort care packages available (plates, cups, knives, forks, spoons etc.) Only problem is they don't have any. Sounded like that haven't had them in quite awhile. That makes the microwave and fridge a total waste. Guy at the desk (wears a flat cap) is pretty useless. He is never there (out walking dog, smoking etc) and leaves a msg to call him. Only problem my UK phone doesn't do calls in US. Also had 2 cockroaches in the bathroom on my last morning. If you have your own kitchen stuff or get some at dollar store. It's a nice clean comfortable place to stay.

The Manager Barbara was horrible. Always assuming guests wanted something for free if they complained about anything. Employee Debbie was inept, was a full-timer but didn’t know how to do anything on the system. Constantly booking people for the wrong dates that they didn’t ask for. Which lead many guests to loosing the nightly rate they was locked in at. And manager Barbara never did anything to make it right. She just constantly told guests, “we don’t do anything that the guests didn’t tell us to do”. Even though two, yes, TWO of her employees always complained about Debbie. Saying that she screws over at least 2-3 guests a week with their booking… My room was filthy upon arrival January 20th, 2026. I reported it, Barbara did nothing about it. I had to clean it from top to bottom, myself

Positive: The shower was AMAZING and the bed was a good bed. Locations was right beside I-95 and very close to many things. Negative: No front desk worker, dirty linen piled up in the hallway, a strange smell of food and body odor. We booked a double queen and they didn?t have it. Couch and chairs in room had been destroyed by an animal and were filthy. I could go on and on.

Let me start by saying I understand this isn’t a $400 a night hotel, but even with that said there still needs to be some level of cleanliness and sanitation in this place does not have it. The entire building stinks like cigarettes and mold, everything was dirty, the refrigerator was rusty, the stove was shattered, the linens had stains, the bathtub started backing up while I was taking a shower and what appeared to be tons of loose tobacco started flowing out onto my feet. These are not lies, I have video and pictures to prove all of it. I promise you spend an extra $40 and stay somewhere better because this is not the place, you go there for a shower and a good night sleep but I left there feeling tired and disgusted. As a long term tenant of this location, due to convenience and location. I've witnessed a big improvement in this location over the last year. Ms. Rachel is super attentive in the evenings and always greets us with a smile. Ms. Barb has done a great job with assuring things run smoothly. The last group of workers and leadership were inattentive and usually hard to find. there is always someone available during front desk hours, that's been a great improvement!
